During the early 1970's the boat was housed by the Greeley Fire Department to be used in water rescue or diving operations on behalf of the Sheriff whenever the need arose. The boat became obsolete for those purposes and the Greeley Fire Department has since indicated the Sheriff's Office will be required to purchase those water rescue or diving services in the future because of the cost of maintaining a dive team. The boat was relocated to the Windsor Fire Department who had expressed some interest in maintaining the boat. The Sheriff's Office has had so few instances where the boat was required in the last ten years that there is little need for the boat to remain with Weld County. Because the salvage value would be relatively insignificant, I>am requesting that the boat and trailer be declared surplus and donated to the Windsor Fire Protection District for use as they deem appropriate. Your assistance in this matter is appreciated. EJ:lch 870370 Hello
