RE: APPROVE PETITION FOR VACATING PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY AND
AUTHORIZE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a Petition for
Vacating Public Right-of-Way, to be submitted to the City of
Greeley, and
WHEREAS, said Petition requests the vacation of Hospital Road
lying between 15th Street and 16th Street in the City of Greeley,
and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to
approve said Petition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Petition for
Vacating Public Right-of-Way be, and hereby is , approved for
submission to the City of Greeley.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chairman be, and
hereby is, authorized to sign said Petition.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 12th day of
September, A.D. , 1988 .

PETITION FOR VACATING PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY
TO: The Honorable Mayor and Councilmen
and the Greeley Planning -Commission •
We, the undersigned owners of the adjacent property involved
in this petition respectfully request the following public
rights-of-way to be vacated. The fee of $100. 00 as required
by City Ordinance is attached.
Legal Description : Hospital Road lying between 15th Street and 16th
Street in the City of Greeley, Colorado.

PROCEDURES
1. The petition , regional maps , letters of approval and
fees are to be submitted to the Secretary of the Planning Com-
mission in the Civic Center Complex ten days ( 10 days) prior
to the regular meeting of the Planning Commission. The regu-
lar Planning Commission meets the second and fourth Wednesday
of each month at 1 : 30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the
Civic Center.
The petition fee for vacating a street according to
the City Ordinance is $100. 00. If the petition is denied by
the City Council the fee is not returned.
2. The petition is reviewed by the Planning Commission
who submits a recommendation to the City Council.
3. The City Council acts upon the petition and instructs
the City Attorney to draw up a vacating ordinance if the peti-
tion is accepted and approved.
4. Public hearing and final reading of the vacating ordin-
ance is read after the City Council approves the petition. The
ordinance becomes effective five days after final reading.
5. When the street is officially vacated, the City Clerk
records the vacation plat and/or ordinance .
NOTE: This procedure and petition must be completed for all
vacation and rededication plats as well as the regular vacation
of streets.
If the requested vacation is outside of the city limits , it
must be approved by the County Planning Commission and the
County Commissioners as well as the City Planning Commission.

A detailed map within two blocks showing the following items
affected by the vacation.
1. Existing sanitary sewers
2. Existing storm sewers
3. Existing water mains
4. Existing gas lines
5. Existing telephone lines
6. Existing electric lines
7. Existing natural drainage ways , structures and/or
easements.
8. Width of the street
9. Width of the right-of-way
10. Type of street (paved, gravel , curb and gutter)
11. New traffic pattern that will result if street is
vacated.
12. Stop signs and other traffic control devices or signs
. affected by the vacation.
II . Letters
A letter of approval from the following officials msut
accompany the petition.
1. Water and Sewer Superintendent
2. President of the Gas Company
3. President of the Light and Power Company
4. City Engineer
5. Manager of the Telephone Company
