your decision concern i nd my abatement appeal , and even more sorry
to hear I could have attended that meeting and perh•ap=. Spoken in
our behalf . The letter sent neti - ying us of the meeting did not
inform us that w1e nao an opportunity to attend the meeting and
• possibly be able to speak . I feel this is a tern i bi e example of
• double taxation as the •$ 55.20 abatement figure came from a value
figure that was assessed twice—both in land value and •
improvements, resulting in double taxation . I believe this is a
• violation of our rights and only hope that someone within the
system of government ..,i 1 1 stand up for the honest taxpayer ano
rectify this matter .

• The value was erroneous due to a gross error in communication
between the owner and the appraiser from the (,Weld Co. i=i_lessor's
c++ i ce . When the appraiser contacted the owner by phone , she
requested a report of the costs of development . We therefore gave .-
all costs of development of the site up to that point which
, ? tt#,.'the buildings, asphalt , fencing, etc . Now we are finding
�: � `: ou-t "hetiaanted only land costs including;
1 . land purchase price - $50 ,000
2. dirt work - $54,0100
3. legal and _onc..ul tans fees - $10 ,000
This was not -lade clear before and resulted in a double assessment
for improvements, because it was included in the land value figure
as well as in the value of the improvements. TheMe ' i nal result was
an erroneously high value being p: .;.ced on the land. Because of
this gross ,_r•r_ir the assessors office has agreed to correct the
values +or next ::rear' s tax . But because of the huge dollar amount
we need help with it for this year . •
