HomeMy WebLinkAbout880783.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE AUTHORIZATION FOR DEMOLITION OF DANGEROUS BUILDING - OTABIO ESPINOZA WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, on June 27 , 1988 , the Department of Planning Services informed the Board that a building considered to be dangerous to persons under the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings is on property described as Lot 51 , Espanola Subdivision, located at 1411 N. 25th Avenue , Weld County, Colorado, said property being owned by Otabio Espinoza , and WHEREAS, the Department of Planning Services has advised the Board that, despite efforts by the Planning staff, Mr. Espinoza has not demolished or removed the dangerous building from the property, and WHEREAS, at the meeting of June 27 , the Board directed that Purchasing Director to seek bids for the demolition of said building and continued this matter to allow time for the bidding process , and WHEREAS, at the meeting of July 27 , the Board was advised that Western Construction, Inc. , of Evans , was awarded the bid, in the amount of $2 , 000 .00, for the demolition and removal of said building, and WHEREAS , after study and review, the Board deems it advisable and in the best interests of the citizens of Weld County to authorize Western Construction, Inc. to proceed with the demolition work and set September 28 , 1988 , as the date to consider recovering the cost of the demolition work. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that Western Construction, Inc . , of Evans, be , and hereby is , authorized to proceed with demolition work to remove the dangerous building still located on the hereinabove mentioned property.
