U.S. 40 planning for Winter Park will be discussed at the commu-
nity's Town Hall beginning at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10. Sponsored by the
Colorado Department of Highways and town officials, an informal public meet-
ing will start with a presentation by URS, consulting firm for a U.S. 40 study.

Four traffic signals in Sterling, on U.S. 138 (4th St.) at U.S. 6
(Chestnut St.) and other streets, in Logan county. Bids were not opened at
10 a.m. April 4, as previously advertised, but are rescheduled to open at 10: 30
a.:n. April 18.

Larimer Viaduct Replacement in Denver, consisting of grading, struc-
tures, bridges, hot bituminous pavement, signing, striping, lighting, signalization,
topsoil, seeding and mulching, located on SH 33, beginning 0.1 mile south of the
intersection of I-25 and 13th Avenue and extending 0.9 mile northeasterly. This
project provides a Walnut St. Viaduct connection to the new West Colfax Viaduct.
Originally scheduled for a bid opening at 9:30 a.m. April 11, this opening
is now set for 9:30 a.m. May 9 (Revised plans will be mailed to contractors
around April 18) .

Centennial Parkway paving in the Denver area, paving 6.63 miles of
the Denver area southwest circumferential route, three combined projects in
Douglas county. Project No. IXFU 470-1(17) consists of grading, stabilization,
structures, concrete and hot bituminous pavement, signing, striping, signalization,
guardrail, topsoil, seeding, and mulching on C-470 beginning half a mile west
of Broadway and extending 6.63 miles east. Project No. I 25-2 (156) begins
0.2 mile east of Yosemite and extends 0.43 mile east to Interstate 25; it consists
of grading, stabilization, concrete and hot bituminous paving, guardrail, topsoil,
seeding and mulching. Project No. IXFU 470-1(7) , Phase B, consists of grading,
stabilization and concrete pavement at the Broadway interchange ramps.
This combined project had a 10 a.m. April 11 bid opening scheduled,
but instead the bids are to open at 10:45 a.m. , April 18.

grading and concrete and hot bituminous pavement, beginning at the junction of US 6
and SH 119 and extending 0.1 mile northerly, in Clear Creek county, and located
a tenth of a mile north of the junction of US 6 and SH 119 and extending 0.1 mile
northerly, in Gilpin county, BRS 0119(26) and BRS 0119(27) . Certified, prequalified
minority bidders only.
9:45 a.m. , Widening El Paso Blvd. in Manitou Springs, con-
sisting of grading, stabilization, hot bituminous and concrete pavement, and curb
and gutter, beginning at Garden of the Gods Road and extending 0.23 mile easterly,
in El Paso county, MR 2090(1) . Certified, prequalified minority bidders only.

FR 024 - 3 (23) U.S. 24 IN ELBERT COUNTY
The Department's Division of Highways accepted three bids at the
April 4 opening for a Set-Aside project which will resurface U.S. 24 near Matheson.
The project begins eight tenths of a mile west of the community and extends 3.9
miles east, with a net project length of 3.1 miles. It consists of grading,
stabilization, structures, paving, striping, seeding and mulching. Only certified,
prequalified minority business enterprises were allowed to bid.
Koga Engineering & Construction, Inc. of Littleton turned in an apparently
successful bid of $1,189,398 on the project, which requires completion within
seventy working days after the Notice to Proceed. Resident engineer is J. W.
Goetzcke of Limon.

MP 99-2000-08 I-25 IN PUEBLO
Turf mowing for Interstate 25 at six Pueblo interchanges drew
three bidders at the Division of Highways April 4 opening. An apparently success-
ful bid of $68,994 was received from Sniders' Aggregate, Inc. of Canon City.
The 1-25 interchanges include Central Ave. , Abriendo Ave. , 6th and
13th Streets, the U.S. 50 East Bypass and U.S. 50/S.H. 47. This project is
a maintenance contract covering the period May 1 through September 31 this
year. Ron Richards, Maintenance Superintendent in Pueblo, will coordinate
the contract.

MP 23-0160-07 RESURFACING NEAR MONTE VISTA
The Division of Highways accepted four bids April 4 for a combined
project to resurface U.S. 285 and U.S. 160 near Monte Vista in Rio Grande county.
An apparently successful bid of $369,574 was received from Andersen Construction Co.
of Alamosa.
Two project locations call for hot bituminous pavement overlay. One,
on U.S. 285, begins 2.2 miles north of Monte Vista and extends five miles
north. A second, on U.S. 160, begins at the U.S. 285 junction in the community
and extends a mile and a half southeasterly.
J. T. Ungefug of Alamosa is resident engineer. The project is
scheduled for completion within twenty working days after its Notice to Proceed.

FCU-HES 036-1(28) BOULDER TURNPIKE AT SHERIDAN
BLVD. IN WESTMINSTER
Resident engineer Steve Horton of Arvada will coordinate a Set-Aside,
Boulder Turnpike ramp project in Westminster, if a contract is awarded following
a Division of Highways April 4 bid opening in Denver. Designed to provide a west-
bound off-ramp for U.S. 36 at Sheridan Blvd. ,the project begins about 300 feet
north of 88th Ave. and extends three tenths of a mile north. It includes grading,
stabilization, paving, signing, striping, topsoil, seeding and mulching. Bidding
was open only to certified, prequalified minority business firms.
Dumar Contractors, Inc. of Greeley turned in an apparently successful
bid of $167,989 on the project, which requires completion within 35 working days.
Three minority firms submitted offers on this project.
