HomeMy WebLinkAbout880834.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE AMENDMENT TO COOPERATIVE LAW ENFORCEMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN WELD COUNTY AND U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE FOREST SERVICE AND AUTHORIZE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, on April 4 , 1988 , the Board approved an Agreement between Weld County and the U.S . Department of Agriculture Forest Service, for patrolling of certain recreation areas in the Pawnee National Grasslands, and WHEREAS, the Board has now been presented with an Amendment to said Agreement, with the terms and conditions being as stated in said Amendment, and WHEREAS, after study and review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said Amendment, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Amendment to the Cooperative Law Enforcement Agreement between Weld County and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service be, and hereby is, approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chairman be, and hereby is, authorized to sign said Amendment. This amendment to the plan, made and agreed to this last day of August 1988, for the period beginning September 1, 1988, and ending when terminated by either party, by and between the Forest Service and the Weld County Sheriff's Department, becomes a part of the agreement between said parties dated April 30, 1982. A. The Weld County Sheriff's Office agrees: 7. To install two surplus Sheriff's Office vehicle radios in two Forest Service vehicles. Estimated cost is $250. Funds will be provided under this agreement by the Forest Service. 8. To maintain said radios using funds totaling $300 annually, provided under this agreement. B. The Forest Service agrees: 2. To provide the Weld County Sheriff's Office of $550, in addition to the $2,331 agreed to in the plan. Any unused funds from the budgeted amount may be spent for sheriff equipment subject to Forest Supervisor's office approval. 3. To utilize the WCRC channels for law enforcement operations, natural or man-caused disasters, and search and rescue operations only. Control remains with Weld County Regional Communications per Part 90 90.421 FCC rules and regulations. All channel users will yield priority to net control at all times. Additional Rate Schedule for Reimbursable Services. 5. Clause A-5. The rate of $250 for installation of the two radios and $300 annually for maintenance.
