Dear Weld County Commissioners,
At the end of 1985 you requested $10,000 from the State Department
of Agriculture to be allocated to Weld County prior to July 1, 1986 for
roadside spraying of grasshoppers.
The Weld County Pest and Weed Department has already treated about
500 roadside miles, both sides, with over $3,000 worth of insecticide.
I suggest that we now request the $10,000 in state cost sharing money,
from the the State Department of Agriculture. The state picks up 2/3
of the grasshopper roadside spraying program while the counties share
is 1/3 of the cost. The counties share is in equipment and labor for
spraying which is already established for our roadside/noxious weed
control program.
This request needs to be sent to the Colorado Department of
Agriculture, c/o R. I . Sullivan, 1525 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado
80203. If you have any questions, please don't hestitate to call me.
Sincerely,
