HomeMy WebLinkAbout850133.tiff RESOLUTION RE: SIX GEOGRAPHIC AREAS FOR APPOINTIVE BOARDS IN WELD COUNTY WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the best method would be to utilize school district boundaries as the basis for establishing said geographic areas; and a revised map showing six geographic districts incorporating said basis has been presented to the Board, a copy of which is marked Exhibit "A" , attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference, and WHEREAS, the Board believes it to be in the best interest of the county to approve said revised districts as hereinabove mentioned. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County that the boundaries of the six geographic areas within Weld County, as mandated in the Weld County Home Rule Charter, shall be, and are , hereby established as shown on the map attached hereto; and that said districts may be altered as , in the discretion of the Board, is deemed necessary. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners that the Administrative Manual be amended as indicated on Exhibit "B" to reflect the above changes. Procedures for appointments of members of any appointive agency, board or commission shall be effected by compliance with the appropriate provisions of the Weld County Home Rule Charter. A. The term of office for a member of any appointive agency, board or commission shall be three years. B. No member of an agency, board or commission shall serve more than two consecutive terms on any one appointive agency, board or commission. C. No one who has served as an elective officer of Weld County shall be appointed to an appointive agency, board or commission until at least one year after leaving office. D. No county officer, employee or member of an appointive board, agency or commission shall have any pecuniary interest in any entity doing business with Weld County if such interest could interfere with the unbiased discharge of his duty to the general public or interfere with his ability to act in the best interest of Weld County. This restriction shall not apply in the instance where the officer, employee's department or member of an appointive agency, board or commission has no direct contact nor any business transactions with such entity. E. Pursuant to the Home Rule Charter of Weld County, the Board of County Commissioners shall determine six geographic areas from which members of Boards shall be appointed. 2.
