RE: CONSENT TO ENFORCEMENT OF RESOLUTION ADOPTING UNIFORM FIRE
CODE BY WESTERN HILLS FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT WITHIN
UNINCORPORATED PORTIONS OF WELD COUNTY
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Section 32-1-1002 (1) (d) , CRS , provides that a fire
code promulgated by a fire district may not be enforced in
unincorporated portions of Weld County without the consent of the
Weld County Board of Commissioners , and
WHEREAS, the Western Hills Fire Protection District has
presented a resolution concerning its request to authorize
enforcement of the fire codes and standards within unincorporated
portions of Weld County in order to regulate conditions hazardous
to life and property from fire or explosion, and provide for the
issuance of permits for hazardous uses or operations, pursuant to
Section 32-1-1002 (1) (d) , CRS, and
WHEREAS, this fire code proposal from the Western Hills Fire
Protection District is consistent with the guidelines set forth in
the Model Fire Code adopted by the Board on September 12 , 1983 ,
and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it in the best
interests of the citizens of Weld County to consent to the above
mentioned resolution, a copy of which is attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado , that the enforcement of
the resolution as hereinabove mentioned, within the unincorporated
portions of Weld County by the Western Hills Fire Protection
District, be, and hereby is , consented to.

RESOLUTION
WESTERN HILLS FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
RE: • A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE ORIGINAL RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE UNIFORM
FIRE CODE, AND THE UNIFORM FIRE CODE STANDARDS PRESCRIBING REGULATIONS
GOVERNING CONDITIONS HAZARDOUS TO LIFE AND PROPERTY FROM EXPLOSION AND
PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR HAZARDOUS USES OR OPERATIONS
BY ADOPTING THE 1985 UNIFORM FIRE CODE AND THE 1985 UNIFORM FIRE CODE
STANDARDS.
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Western Hills Fire Protection
District, Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute, is
vested with the authority to adopt the fire codes and enforce such
codes provided certain consents are obtained from Weld County and
any affected municipalities.
WHEREAS, this District adopted a fire code incorporating the Uniform
Fire Code 1982 edition and the Uniform Fire Code Standards 1982 edition
which was consented to by resolution, by the Board of County Commissioners
of Weld County on September 12, 1983, and
WHEREAS, a change in the resolution is required to substitute any
reference made to the Uniform Fire Code and Uniform Fire Code
Standards, 1982 editions, with a reference to the 1985 editions, and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it in the best interests of the District to
amend the original resolution to update from the 1982 Uniform Fire
Code, and 1982 Uniform Fire Code Standards, to the most current 1985
Uniform Fire Code, and 1985 Uniform Fire Code Standards.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Western
Hills Fire Protection District that the original resolution to adopt
the Uniform Fire Code, and the Uniform Fire Code Standards be amended
to delete all reference to the 1982 editions and substitute a reference
to the 1985 editions.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Uniform Fire Code 1985 edition and
the Uniform Fire Code Standards 1985 edition, as modified by the prior
resolution of this Board are adopted by this reference and this
resolution is hereby,
ADOPTED, this 13th day of April, A.D. , 1987

Please find the enclosed resolution to adopt the 1985 Uniform Fire Code
for the Western Hills Fire Protection District.
The Board of Directors adopted this resolution on April 13, 1987 at it's
regular meeting. I am submitting this resolution to you for review and
action necessary to obtain approval from the Board of County Commissioners.
