HomeMy WebLinkAbout851477 RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE DESIGNATION OF OFFICIAL DINOSAUR WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS , Weld County is famous among paleontologists over the world for fossil life discovered in Weld County, and WHEREAS, most recently Colorado University has been the recipient of an excellent Triceratops dinosaur skull which was discovered at a site near Briggsdale, Colorado, and WHEREAS , the Triceratops dinosaur is one of the significant fossils found in Weld County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Triceratops dinosaur be, and hereby is, designated as the officially recognized fossil of Weld County.
