Home My WebLink About891088.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE AUTHORIZATION FOR DEMOLITION OR REPAIR OF DANGEROUS BUILDING - OSCAR AND HAZEL SULLIVAN WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, on August 30, 1989 , the Department of Planning Services informed the Board that a building considered to be dangerous to person under the Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings is on property described as part of the S}NW} of Section 29 , Township 7 North, Range 65 West of the 6th P.M. , Weld County, Colorado, said property being owned by Oscar and Hazel Sullivan, and WHEREAS, the Department of Planning Services has advised the Board that, despite efforts by the Planning staff, Mr. and Mrs . Sullivan have neither demolished nor repaired the dangerous building on the property, and WHEREAS, at the meeting of October 11, 1989 , the Board directed the Planning staff to solicit bids for the demolition or repair of said building. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Planning staff be, and hereby is, directed to solicit bids for the demolition or repair of the dangerous building still located on the hereinabove mentioned property. The Department of Planning Services' staff recommends that the Board authorize the repair or demolition and clean-up work to repair or remove the dangerous building located on the property and authorize the Purchasing Director to seek bids for the repair or demolition of the building by a private contractor. The staff would also recommend that the Board set November 15, 1989, as the hearing date to consider recovering the cost of the repair or demolition work by special assessment or as a personal obligation of the property owner.
