RE: APPROVE APPOINTMENT OF LAVERN E. HAMMERS AS DIRECTOR OF
COMMUNICATIONS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County
desire to restructure the Communications Department by creating
the position of a Communications Director and eliminating the
position of Communications Technical Specialist, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has done a
nationwide recruitment for a Communications Director, and
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners has selected
LaVern E. Hammers as the Director of Communications based upon
the recruitment and selection process .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, hereby creates the
position of Director of Communications effective June 13 , 1988 .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
that the position of Communications Technical Specialist is
hereby eliminated effective July 1 , 1988 .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
that LaVern E. Hammers be, and hereby is, appointed Director of
Communications effective June 13 , 1988 .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
that Mr. Hammers shall be compensated at the rate of $3,333 .33
per month and that a relocation allowance of $1 ,000 .00 shall be
paid to Mr. Hammers.

The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 13th day of
June, A.D. , 1988 .
