RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF "STOP AHEAD" AND "STOP" SIGNS AT THE
INTERSECTION OF WELD COUNTY ROAD 64 AND WELD COUNTY ROAD 61
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Road and Bridge Department has
informed the Board that visibility is impaired at the intersection
of Weld County Roads 64 and 61 , and they recommend that "Stop
Ahead" and "Stop" signs be installed to control westbound traffic
on Weld County Road 64 at its intersection with Weld County Road
61 to insure the safety of the traveling public, and
WHEREAS, upon recommendation of the Road and Bridge
Department, the Board has determined that said traffic control
devices are necessary for the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Road and Bridge
Department be, and hereby is, directed to install "Stop Ahead" and
"Stop" signs to control westbound traffic on Weld County Road 64
at its intersection with Weld County Road 61 , said signs must
conform to the State manual and specifications and are for the
safety of the general public.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 19th day of
May, A.D. , 1986.

Subject: Proposed "Stop" and "Stop Ahead" Signs - Intersection of Weld
County Roads 64 and 61
Attached is a recommendation I received from our Maintenance-Support Supervisor
reagrding "Stop" and "Stop Ahead" signs at the intersection of Weld County
Roads 64 and 61. I agree with this recommendation and request that this
item be placed on an upcoming Board Meeting's Agenda.

Subject Proposed "Stop" and "Stop Ahead" Signs - Intersection of
County Roads 64 and 61
Upon checking into a concern from a Mrs. Jacob Miller (copy attached), it
is my recommendation that "Stop" and "Stop Ahead" signs be placed on Weld
County Road 64 in accordance with the attached diagram. When traveling
west on Weld County Road 64, the intersection of Weld County Roads 64 and
61 is blind. Weld County Road 64 going east is not a through road; however,
oil trucks using this road cause a hazard to the traffic traveling on Weld
County Road 61.

CO".PLAINT: Intersection of CRS 64 and 61: Blind corner. Various types of traffic use
this road - possibility of placing a "Stop" sign for CR 64? Also, one of the oil trucks
knocked down a "Not a Through Road" sign.
CR 64 east of CR 61 : not been graded in 3-4 years. In the past year, oil
traffic has been using this road and the road is really rough. Sinte the road has not
been graded by the County, the Millers have been grading it with a drag. However, now
the road is too bad for their drag. What s th status of this road?
