RE: APPROVE ASSIGNMENT OF LEASE FROM RIO GRANDE EXPLORATION
COMPANY TO FINA OIL AND CHEMICAL COMPANY
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Rio Grande Exploration Company has requested
permission to assign all right, title, and interest of an Oil and
Gas Lease to Fina Oil and Chemical Company, 1601 N. W. Expressway,
Suite 900 , Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73118 , said assignment
concerns 80 net mineral acres located in Section 8 , Township 8
North, Range 58 West of the 6th P.M. , Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Weld County' s Oil and Gas Lease, said
assignment must be approved by the Board of County Commissioners,
and
WHEREAS , after consideration, the Board deems it appropriate
to approve the hereinabove mentioned assignment, subject to a
total fee of $25 .00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the assignment of
said lease, from Rio Grande Exploration Company to Fina Oil and
Chemical Company, be, and hereby is, approved, subject to the
submittal of the $25 . 00 fee.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 16th day of
November, A.D. , 1987 .

Weld County, Colorado
Gentlemen:
Diversified Operating Corporation (DOC) plans to drill a "J" sand test on
the captioned land in the immediate future. These lands are covered by an oil
and gas lease from Weld County, Colorado to Rio Grande Exploration Co. dated
December 4, 1985. Rio Grande assigned the lease to Fina Oil and Chemical
Company on April 16, 1986.
As a title curative requirement, DOC's attorney has requested that we
obtain the Commissioners' approval of the assignment from Rio Grande
Exploration Co. to Fina Oil and Chemical Company. I am enclosing the original
assignment with the request that the Board of County Commissioners approve the
assignment as provided in Paragraph 9(a) of the lease. Inasmuch as DOC's
prepared to drill the well as soon as possible, we ask for your prompt
attention to this request.
