Gentlemen:
I have been reluctant to write this letter, but things have gotten
to such a state that I must call this matter to your attention.
I operate a landfill in the Town of Eire, which landfill has carefully
and faithfully followed the regulations of the Town and the State with
respect to the handling of solid waste and particularly, covering the
waste on a daily basis.
Colorado Landfill, across the street, is receiving waste both day and
night and is not covering this waste for three to five days. The bird
population increase has been substantial. The Erie Airport is particularly
concerned about this increase in bird population.
PLEASE TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS TO INSURE THAT COLORADO LANDFILL COVERS
ITS SOLID WASTE ON A DAILY BASIS. Time is critical.
