RE: APPROVE AUTHORIZATION FOR PEST INSPECTOR TO HAVE DUTCH ELM
DISEASED TREE REMOVED
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Pest Inspector has advised the Board that the
Lawrence H. Rieder Trust, owner of certain property described as
the NE* SE} of Section 5, Township 4 North, Range 67 West of the
6th P.M. , Weld County, Colorado, has been notified by letter that
a tree infected with Dutch Elm Disease has been found on said
property, and
WHEREAS, the infected tree has been cut, but has not been
debarked, burned or buried as required, and
WHEREAS, the Pest Inspector has requested that the Board
authorize him to have said Dutch Elm diseased tree removed from
the property, and
WHEREAS, after study and review, the Board deems it advisable
to authorize the removal of said tree after personal contact with
the owner.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Pest Inspector
be, and hereby is, authorized to have said Dutch Elm diseased tree
removed after the owner has been personally contacted.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 27th day of
September, A.D. , 1989 .

NOTICE
OF THE NEED FOR REMOVAL OF
A DUTCH ELM DISEASED TREE
Lawrence H. Rieder Trust 9/11/89

This notice is in accordance with C.R.S. Section 35-4-107 (1984 Repl. Vol.
14) . Dutch Elm Disease was discovered to infect a tree on your property
at:
NE1/4 SE1/4 of Sec 5, T4N R67W
Parcel #105905400014 and 105905400013
The diseased tree has been marked with orange iridescent paint. This Dutch
. Elm diseased tree must be eliminated by cutting the tree down at ground
level and either debarked, burned or buried.
If the tree is not cut down by September 25, 1989, then the County Pest
Inspector will cause the work to be done pursuant to Section 35-4-107(2) .
You will be billed for the cost of the control in accordance with Section
35-4-107(3) .
You have a right to request in writing a hearing before the Board of County
Commissioners within ten (10) days of the notice should you wish to dispute
the findings of infection/infestation of the Pest Inspector.
