After 4 years, I am finally relieved and happy that I can finalize my gift of the Triceratops skull and bones to Weld County. Bob Tate, paleontologist, who is overseeing the restoration, the display stand and the shipping, tells me it should be ready for display and delivered to Greeley sometime in July. Arrangements necessary for the exact location for the display should be made by you and any information needed as to measurements etc. are available from Bob Tate, 4949 North Broadway, Suite 290, Boulder, CO, 80302, Telephone 440-9284. Thanks for all your cooperation. Hopefully, the public will be able to view, enjoy, and study a genuine, Weld County, 70 million year old Triceratops in the Weld County Centennial Building very soon. Box G Greeley, Colorado 80632 Dear Mr . Mapelli : I am now fully aware of the problems concerning the ownership of the TRICERATOPS collected on the Seven- Cross Ranch in 1982. Therefore we are returning custody of the specimen to you and have made appropriate notations in the Museums records. We have notified Mr. Robert Tate of this situation. I regret the confusion that has arisen about its collection. The skull is now being prepared by Kentaro Doi and others at the request of Mr. Tate. I hope that when the preparation is finished the skull will make a good exhibit in Greeley. I would like to thank you for your interest and generosity in having the skull prepared.
