RESOLUTION
RE: GRANT REQUEST OF LaVERN NELSON, ON BEHALF OF BALL AEROSPACE
SYSTEMS DIVISION, TO PRE-ADVERTOSE CHANGE OF ZONE
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter , is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, LaVern Nelson , of Nelson Engineers , has submitted a
letter, on behalf of Ball Aerospace Systems Division, requesting
that a Change of Zone application be pre-advertised, and
WHEREAS, a copy of said letter of request is attached hereto
and incorporated herein by reference , and
WHEREAS, after reveiw, the Board deems it appropriate to
grant said request to pre-advertise this matter and set the
hearing date as August 5 , 1987 , at 2 : 00 p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the request of LaVern
Nelson , on behalf of Ball Aerospace Systems Division , be , and
hereby is, granted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the hearing date to
consider said request be, and hereby is , set as August 5 , 1987 , at
2: 00 p.m.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 22nd day of
June, A.D. , 1987 .

PUD Rezoning Proposal
Dear Madam:
This letter is a request to be heard before the Weld County
Commissioners on June 22, 1987 to request preadvertisment for the
referenced PUD proposal. Ball Aerospace Systems Division
currently is under contract to Rockwell International, who is in
turn under contract to NASA, to provide cryogenic systems for the
next space shuttle. The United States has committed to building
another shuttle to replace the shuttle Challenger that was
destroyed in January, 1986. In order to meet the NASA schedules,
they must have the Cryogenic Research Center construction started
early in August, 1987 , so that it can be completed in March, 1988 .
Ball Aerospace Systems Division respectfully requests that
the Board of County Commissioners set a date for hearing at the
earliest possible time after the hearing before the County
Planning Commission. It is our understanding that all pread-
vertising fees will be paid by the applicant.

Pursuant to the zoning laws of the State of Colorado and the Weld County
Zoning Ordinance, a public tearing will le held in the Chambers of the Board
of County Commissioners -of Weld County, Colorado, Weld County Gentennial
Center, 915 10th Street, First Floor, _Greeley, Colorado, at the time
specified. All persons in any manner interested in the following proposed
Change o₹ Zone are requested to attend and _may be heard.
Should the applicant or any interested -tarty desire the presence of a court
reporter to make a record of the proceedings, in addition to the taped
record which will be kept during the -hearing, the Clerk to the Board's
Office can be -contacted for a list of certified _court -reporters in the area.
If a court reporter is obtained, the Clerk to the -Board's Office shall be
advised in writing of such -action at least five days prior to the hearing.
The cost of engaging a court reporter shall be 'borne by the -requesting
party.
