RE: APPROVE CONTINUANCE OF SHOW CAUSE HEARING - HIGH COUNTRY TURF
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, on the 28th day of June , 1989 , a public hearing was
held to consider the revocation of Use by Special Review #498 ,
granted to High Country Turf, and
WHEREAS, the Board was advised that the surrounding property
owners were not notified of this hearing, and
WHEREAS, the Board deemed it advisable to continue said
hearing to July 12 , 1989 .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Show Cause
Hearing for High Country Turf be, and hereby is, continued to July
12 , 1989 .
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 28th day of
June, A.D. , 1989 .

- HIGH COUNTRY TURF
A public hearing was conducted on June 28, 1989, at 10:00 A.M. , with
the following present:
Commissioner C.W. Kirby, Chairman
Commissioner Jacqueline Johnson, Pro-Tem
Commissioner Gene Brantner
Commissioner George Kennedy
Commissioner Gordon E. Lacy
Also present:
Acting Clerk to the Board, Tommie Antuna
Assistant County Attorney, Lee D. Morrison
Planning Department representative, Lanell Curry
The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated May 31, 1989, and duly
published June 15, 1989, in The New News, a public hearing was
conducted to consider the revocation of Use by Special Review #498
issued to High Country Turf. Lee Morrison, Assistant County Attorney,
made this matter of record. Mr. Morrison said the issues to be
considered are whether the owners of this property are in violation of
Development Standards #1 and #5. Lannell Curry, representing the
Department of Planning Services, said the staff recommends that this
hearing be continued to July 12 because the surrounding property owners
were not notified of this hearing. Ms. Curry said the owners are
filing an Amended Use by Special Review permit application, which may
correct part of the problem. Commissioner Lacy moved to continue this
Show Cause Hearing to July 12 at 10:00 a.m. Seconded by Commissioner
Johnson, the motion carried unanimously.
This Certification was approved on the 5th day of July, 1989.

NOTICE
P ursuant to the zoning laws of the State of Colorado and the Weld
County Zoning Ordinance, a public hearing will be held in the Chambers
of the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, Weld
County Centennial Center, 915 10th Street, First Floor, Greeley,
Colorado, at the time specified. All persons in any manner interested
in the matter are requested to attend and maybe heard.
S hould the applicant or any interested party desire the presence of a
court reporter to make a record of the proceedings, in addition to the
taped record which will be kept during the hearing, the Clerk to the
Board 's Office shall be advised in writing of such action at least five
days prior to the hearing. The cost of engaging a court reporter shall
be borne by the requesting party.
BE IT ALSO KNOWN that the text and maps may be examined in the office
of the Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners, located in the Weld
County Centennial Center, 915 10th Street, Third Floor, Greeley,

ISSUES: 1 . Whether or not the uses currently being conducted on the

stated that the uses permitted shall include the nursery

2. Whether or not the additional uses on the property are
material deviations from the plans, in violation of
Development Standard #5, which states that material
deviations shall require the approval of an amendment to
the Permit by the Weld County Planning Commission and
the Board of County Commissioners before such changes
are permitted.
