Morgan, Colorado, The Western Sugar Company would like to propose the following changes to they P.O. Box t;17 Board of Commissioners: 18317 Hwy. 144 Ft. Morgan, Colorado 80701 (303) 867-8276 1. WCR 63 & 14 - install stop signs for traffic traveling East and West. 2. WCR 67 & 14 -- change direction of stop sign to East and West. The reason for our conce'r'n regarding these two intersections comes as a result of the consolidation of two beet receiving stations which will now be located at Krauss on WCR 65 1/2 & :L6. Geographically, Krauss has two major routes for access from the South, these two being WCR 63 & 67. An explanation for our safety reasons are as follows: 1 . WC:F; 63 & 14 f•'t,. Truck drivers will be able to avoid an uncontrolled intersection. P. W C R 67 & 14 W. Road 67 being changed to a thoroughfare would be safer for truck drivers avoiding sudden stops with heavy payloads. B. Heavy truck traffic resulting from: 1 . Local beet harvest 2. Commercial rehaul of beets to Ft. Morgan 3. Corn and feed supplies to feedlot on Rd. 67 & 18 C. Truck traffic running East and West, to continue traveling North, would have to slow down or stop to negotiate a turn. Therefore stopping at a controlled inter - section seems logical. We hope that these proposed changes seems logical to accommodate the present traffic patterns. The Western Sugar Company is committed to operating as safely as possible so growers, employees and local residents will benefit. This is the main reason for our proposal to the Weld County Board of Commissioners. Sincerely, if2 '1145ta"d`2"' Les Watada Agriculturist 880657 e'. . 4 ,i.
