On behalf of the board of supervisors for the Centennial Soil Conservation
District, I am making the following recommendations to alleviate the blowing
of soil on land owned by Brian Thiessen. The land is located in the SW3 of
Sec. 32 and the SE's of Sec. 31, all in Twp. 10N, Rng. 56W.
In order to stop the problem of soil blowing, our board of supervisors
recommends that the land be chiseled on 2 foot centers to bring up clods
on all areas which are eroded. If chiseling fails to produce dirt clods,
deep listing is recommended. We would also suggest that the fence rows be
bladed out so that fences can be repaired and rebuilt.
To solve long-term erosion problems and receive technical assistance in
conservation planning, we would like to encourage the owners of the land in
question to contact the Centennial Soil Conservation District.
Please keep our board informed as to the status of actions taken to control
erosion on this land. Thank you.

Dear Mr. Thiessen:
Enclosed please find a letter addressed to the Weld County
Commissioners from the Centennial Soil Conservation District
- concerning dust blowing from land located in the Southwest 14 of
Section 32 and the Southeast 14 of Section 31 , Township 10 North,
Range 56 West of the 6th Principal Meridian, Weld County,
Colorado.
Pursuant to Sections 35-72-101 , et seq. , Colorado Revised
Statutes, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, will conduct a hearing on Wednesday, May 29 , 1985 , at
9 :00 a. m. , for the purpose of determining a remedy for the dust
blowing. The hearing will take place in the First Floor Meeting
Room, Weld County Centennial Center Complex, 915 Tenth Street,
Greeley, Colorado. The hearing will be part of the agenda for the
regular Wednesday Board Meeting. A representative from the
Centennial Soil Conservation District will be present at the
hearing to inform the Board of the dust blowing and the available
remedies. You or your representative may attend the hearing in
order to present evidence which is contrary to that presented by
the representative from Centennial Soil Conservation District.
