Home My WebLink About861143.tiff RESOLUTION RE: AUTHORIZE COUNTY ATTORNEY TO PROCEED WITH LEGAL ACTION TO RECOVER COST OF DEMOLITION WORK - SHERRON LEONARD LEWIS WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Weld County Road and Bridge Department, pursuant to a Resolution dated September 24 , 1986 , performed demolition work on Lots 10 , 11 , and 12 , Block 2 , East Side Addition to Eaton , and WHEREAS, said demolition work was done to abate dangerous conditions on the hereinabove described property which is owned by Sherron Leonard Lewis, and WHEREAS , said property was duly posted and a notice was duly published in the County legal newspaper, ten days prior to the meeting, with Mr. Lewis being properly notified by certified letter that the Board was to consider the matter of recovering the cost of the demolition work at its regular Board meeting of December 1, 1986 , and WHEREAS, Sherron Leonard Lewis was neither present nor represented at the Board meeting of December 1, 1986 , and no objection was made in his behalf to the entry of this Resolution, and WHEREAS, the Board, at said meeting, determined that this matter be referred to the County Attorney to proceed with appropriate legal action against the owner of said property to recover the cost of the demolition in the amount of $1 , 886. 48. Said meeting will be conducted in the Chambers of the Board, First Floor, Weld County Centennial Center, 915 10th Street, Greeley, Colorado. The demolition work, which was done by the Weld County Road and Bridge Department at the direction of the Board, took place on Lots 10, 11, and 12, Block 2, East Side Addition to Eaton, said Lots being owned by Sherron Leonard Lewis. The Board will hear any protests and consider whether or not the cost should be assessed personally against the owner or by special assessment and lien against the property. Any persons in any manner interested are requested to attend the meeting and may be heard. It has been determined that the total cost of said demolition work is $1,886.48, with a copy of the summary of the cost being available in the office of the Clerk to the Board, Third Floor, Centennial Center, 915 Tenth Street, Greeley, Colorado, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. , Monday through Friday. GG/msc xc: Chuck Cunliffe, Planning Department RESOLUTION RE: AUTHORIZE DIRECTOR OF ROAD AND BRIDGE DEPARTMENT TO PROCEED WITH DEMOLITION WORK AND SET DATE TO CONSIDER RECOVERING THE COST OF SAID DEMOLITION WORK - SHERRON LEONARD LEWIS WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado , pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the Board did, by Resolution dated April 11 , 198== , authorize the County Attorney to proceed with legal action against Sherron Leonard Lewis concerning a building damaged by fire to such an extent as to be considered dangerous to persons , and WHEREAS , the Department of Planning Services has advised the Board that Mr. Lewis has not demolished or removed the dangerous building from the property, said property being situated on parcel of land described as Lots 10 , 11 and 12 , Block 2 , East Sid=. Addition to Eaton , Weld County, and WHEREAS, after study and review, the Board deems it advisabic and in the best interests of the citizens of Weld County to authorize the Director of the Road and Bridge Department to proceed with demolition work to remove said building; and set November 12 , 1986 , as the date to consider recovering the cost of the demolition work. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Count' Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado , that the Director of the. u Road and Bridge Department be, and hereby is , authorized =tc proceed with demolition work to remove the dangerous building still located on the hereinabove mentioned property.
