Board of Weld County Commissioners.
The Live POW Committee of Colorado is made up of citizens dedicated to the
task of obtaining release of United States Military Personnel still held
captive in Southeast Asia. .
In order to complete this task the United States Government must be
pressured into taking steps to accomplish this mission. .
Since cessation of hostilities in 1973 our government has ignored the issue
and has attempted to write off these men as expendable. The reasons are
many and varied. .
This committee is attempting to gain support of local governments and bus-
inesses to encourage the Federal Government to take steps. .
The goals of the committe are as follows. .
Assist in proving the presence of live American Prisoners of fear in South-
east Asia.
Encourage the release of all Americans still held captive in Vietnam, Laos ,
Cambodia, and throughout the world. .
Heighten the awareness of the American people about the fate of our POWs. .
Urge the government to use every resource at its command to secure the re-
lease of our POWs and the accounting of those listed as Pissing in Action. .
Create and maintain public , government, and media consciousness of live POWs
in Southeast Asia. .
Encourage the American people to call for the immediate resolution of this
issue through a Presidential Commission, headed by H. Ross Perot, which will
lead to the release of our POWs before it is too late. . . .
We are asking the Board of Meld County Commissioner to support our goals
