RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF "STOP AHEAD" AND "STOP" SIGNS AT THE
INTERSECTION OF WELD COUNTY ROADS 6 AND 59
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter , is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Road and Bridge Department has
recommended to the Board that "Stop Ahead" and "Stop" signs be
installed on Weld County Road 6 at its intersection with Weld
County Road 59 to insure safety to the traveling public, and
WHEREAS , the Board has determined that said traffic devices
are necessary for the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Road and Bridge
Department be , and hereby is , directed to install "Stop Ahead" and
"Stop" signs on Weld County Road 6 at its intersection with Weld
County Road 59 for the safety of the general public , and that said
signs must conform to the State manual and specifications.
The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 31st day of
December, A.D. , 1986 .

Subject: "Stop" and "Stop Ahead" signs on Weld County Road 6 at Weld
County Road 59
I have received complaints from residents living along Weld County Roads 59
and 6 concerning traffic control devices. The intersection is a blind
intersection traveling east and west on Weld County Road 6. There is a
lot of traffic on Weld County Road 59, including school buses.
It is my recommendation that "Stop" and "Stop Ahead" signs be placed on
Weld County Road 6 coming onto Weld County Road 59. A diagram is attached.
