RE: APPROVE CHANGE ORDER TO ZOYIOPOULOS AND ASSOCIATES, INC.
CONCERNING WELD COUNTY BRIDGE WEL 39/68A
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, additional engineering and design services are
necessary concerning the Weld County Bridge WEL 39/68A, and the `
Board has been presented with a Change Order for said services, in
the amount of $546.00, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to
approve said Change Order to Zoyiopoulos and Associates, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Change Order, in
the amount of $546.00 , to Zoyiopoulos and Associates, Inc. , be,
and hereby is, approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 24th day of
October, A.D. , 1988.

RE: Design Services for Weld County Bridge WEL 39/68A
Dear Drew:
Please consider this letter a formal request for Change Order to
the above referenced Contract. After submittal of the Prelim-
inary Design it was reviewed by your office and a Preliminary
Design Review Meeting was held with Rex on August 16, 1988. This
was followed up with a summary letter on August 17, 1988 in which
it was recommended that we utilize alternate "A", which is a
precast box design.
On September 12, 1988 we met with Rex to discuss the project and
it was decided at that meeting that we could come up with a
bridge that better suited the site by going with the alternate
"B" design (poured in place) , which we had originally proposed,
because we could get the 38 '-6" out-to-out width required. The
precast box would force us to use 40 '-0" .
We have as a result lost some of our momentum on the design
sequence and hereby request a time extension of two weeks on the
above referenced contract.
Also on August 19, 1988 a meeting was held with Rex and Jeff
Harbert of the New Cache La Poudre Irrigation Co. , to discuss
moving their ditch road to the south to get around the approach
rail. This was okay with them if we would design replacement
structures for the ones which would have to be removed. This
includes a headwall for new 15" gates with sand trap, a new box
with grate and parshall flume and a pipe to ditch box structure.
While it was anticipated that the headwall and two gates would
have to be relocated the remainder of the structures we feel are
beyond the scope of the original contract.

The design work for these structures breaks down as follows:
Hydraulic Design 6 Hrs. @ $45.00 $ 270.00
Drafting 12 Hrs. @ $23.00 $ 276.00
Total Additional Fee $ 546.00
This design work will add one week to the design Contract for a ,
total of three additional weeks.
