areas of the County of Weld, and

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, e,
Colorado, adopted Ordinance No. 119 , Weld County Building Code
Ordinance, establishing a comprehensive revision of the building ml
code requirements for the unincorporated areas of the County of p
Weld, and has adopted amendments in Ordinances 119-•A through
119-C, and • o
WHEREAS , said Ordinance No. 119 , as amended, is in need of • o
revision, updating, and clarification with regard to procedures,
terms, and requirements therein.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of County P
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that said Ordinance No. o
119 , as amended, is amended by the addition, revision, and o m
renumbering of various sections , which shall read as follows:
AMEND SECTION 10 .3 by adding this sentence at the end of the
existing text:
Vehicles , vessels, or other mobile structures (excluding
mobile or manufactured homes) shall be treated as
buildings in fixed locations when occupied as dwellings.
AMEND SECTION 20 . 1 by:
Delete "1982" and replace with "1985" and add "Division
I and II , " after Chapter 1 in the text.

Retention of Plans. One set of approved plans,
specifications and computations shall be retained by the
Building Official for a period of not less than 90 days
from date of completion of the work therein. One set of
approved plans and specifications shall be returned to
the applicant, and shall be kept on the site of the
building or work at all times during which the work
authorized thereby is in progress. Plans for other than
one and two family dwellings shall be permanently
retained by the Building Official.
AMEND SECTION 30 .5. 3 to read:
Temporary Certificate. A temporary Certificate of
Occupancy may be issued by the Building Official for the
use of a portion or portions of the building or
structure prior to completion of the entire building or
structure. The temporary certificate shall be valid for

complies with the provisions of this Code or as can be

a Certificate of Final Inspection. The Certificate of
Final Inspection shall be obtained no later than 180
days after the mobile home building permit is issued. R, -
Failure to obtain the Certificate of Final Inspection 73 o
within the 180 day period will be sufficient reason to
consider the mobile home in violation of this code. o

reasonably determined, the Building Official shall issue o

issued. Failure to obtain the Certificate of Final
Inspection within the 180 day period will be sufficient
reason to consider the manufactured home in violation of
this code.
If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or
phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held or decided to be
invalid or unconstitutional , such decision shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portion. The Board of County
Commissioners hereby declares that it would have passed the
Ordinance , and each and every section, subsection, paragraph,
sentence, clause and phrase thereof irrespective of the fact that
any one or more sections , subsections , paragraphs, sentences ,
clauses , or phrases might be declared to be unconstitutional and
invalid.

A public hearing was conducted on July 1, 1987, at 2:00 P.M. , with the

The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated May 27, 1987, and duly
published June 4, 11, 18 and 25, 1987, in the Johnstown Breeze, a
public hearing was conducted to consider certain amendments to the
Building Code Ordinance. Chuck Cunliffe, Director of Planning
Services, read the recommendation of the Planning Commission for
approval of said amendments into the record. Commissioner Johnson
moved to accept the recommendation of the Planning Commission.
Commissioner Kirby seconded the motion which carried unanimously.
Lee Morrison, Assistant County Attorney, read into the record Ordinance
No. 119-D, In the Matter of an Amendment to Ordinance No. 119, Weld
County Building Code Ordinance, Revising Certain Procedures, Terms,
Requirements, and Incorporating by Reference Certain Portions of the
Uniform Building Code, 1985 Edition; Uniform Building Code Standards,
1985 Edition; Uniform Mechanical Code, 1985 Edition; National
Electrical Code, 1987 Edition; Uniform Plumbing Code, 1985 Edition;
Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1985 Edition;
Uniform Swimming Pool Code, 1985 Edition; and Appendices to all Uniform
Codes. Commissioner Johnson moved to approve the first reading of
Ordinance No. 119-D and direct the Clerk to Board to publish forthwith.
Commissioner Kirby seconded the motion which carried unanimously.
This Certification was approved on the 6th day of July, 1987.
