Home My WebLink About870327.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE CHANGE ORDERS FOR COURTHOUSE WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado , pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS , Weld County entered into a construction contract on April 10 , 1986 , with Bertron Construction, Inc. to remodel the Courthouse, and WHEREAS , the architect, Loren Bley, has recommended that Change Orders totaling $38 , 304 . 00 are necessary. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado , that Change Orders totaling $38 ,304 . 00 concerning the contract dated April 10 , 1986 , with Bertron Construction, Inc. , be , and hereby are, approved. It was discussed that the new courthouse security system has no provisions to get a security alarm conduit and sable to the county jail main control room # 284 from the seen rity alarm panel on second floor security/holding area in the courthouse. When the original design was done, no security- system had been selec- ted. We provided an empty conduit sysL,'m from the judge ' s bench to the security/holding area . Since tlinn , s' nnri ty Alarm Systems , Inc. have been brought on board .nil thn security system has now been layed out . • The following controls were added : a new pinin device added to county cashiers areas & a panic device added at court reporter bench near the judge' s bench . Per Security Alarm Systems , Inc . , they will require a l " conduit in inaccessible areas and where cable wonl '1 he subject to damage. Route conduit through hasemont and tunnel and into underground parking garage. Polito conduit around parking garage to jail and stub conduit into accessible ceiling space in basement of jail . 3 . Prior to submitting price to county, Michaud Electric shall verify routing of conduit through basement , tunnel , garage, and stub location in jail with Andy Petruzzi of Weld County Bldg . & Grounds Dept . , 356-4000 . Arrange meeting at least 24 hours in advance. 4 . Cable installation is to be done by the county and connec- tion made by the security system company . R .C . is to provide conduit system only . Loren, other items discussed at the meeting : 1 . Electrical flag note #96 calls for two-2" conduit stubs from chases into accessible ceiling space. Per request from Jim Vangorder (Electrician) , he would like to only put in one- 2" conduit stub. It was agreed between myself , Andy Petruzzi , and Jacque Armes that we would only require one-2" conduit stub in locations where present stubs will be empty. In areas where one of the stubs would he approximately 20% (or more) filled , both 2" conduits would he required. Since actual number of stubs to be delernd cannot it this time be verified, Bertron Construction shall dice the County a price deduction per 2"C stub. At the compl -mtinn of the project , Bertron shall confirm number of 2"r ^taros deleted for a total cost savings to County. 2 . The running of flexible conduit or armor--c-1 cable down chase spaces for branch circuiting in lifer of r,11T conduit . Roth Andy Petruzzi and myself see no prot, l .,m with this method of branch circuit as long as the 1or-;, l ., Is- Iric:, I inspector has no problem with this. Electrical rnntr n't.or to verify this with the electrical inspector . 3 . The electrical contractor would like to delete the "reloc" system off the power/telephone poles . He is to find out if there would be a cost saving . If there is a savings , Mary Connell will ask Don Cherno if "rslcc" system can he deleted since it was his directive to use the " reloc" system. 4 . The electric door lock on the holding el l : The control switch shall be a keyed type and located at the guard desk with pilot light indicator . Bertron to provide electrical contractor with actual connection requirements . 5 . Actual location of panic hardware in judge ' s bench and court reporter shall be verified with the j,r'ltes prior to installation . 6 . Captain Meltzer asked if the new heldi 'in call door could he one of the existing spare doors left over from the jail remodel so locks would be the same as the jail ' s .
