RE: APPROVE ADJUSTMENT OF MILL LEVY FOR GALETON FIRE PROTECTION
DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Galeton Fire Protection District, on September
22 , 1988 , certified its tax levy to the Weld County Assessor in
the amount of 2 .39 mills, and
WHEREAS, the maximum tax levy authorized pursuant to Section
29-1-301 , C.R.S. , and based upon a notice received from the
Department of Local Affairs , would be 1 . 905 mills for general
operating expense , including any funds for tax credits and refunds
and abatements, and
WHEREAS, the Board is obligated by law to reduce the mill
levy of the Galeton Fire Protection District as hereinabove stated
to 1 .905 mills.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the mill levy for the
Galeton Fire Protection District be, and hereby is, adjusted to
the maximum allowable of 1 .905 mills for general operating
expense.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 14th day of
December, A.D. , 1988 .

RE: Recertification of Levy for Galeton Fire Protection District
Dear Board of Commissioners:
The Galeton Fire protection district certified their mill levy of 2.38
to us on 11-14-88. Ths levy includes the fireman's pension fund.
Bases on a notice from the Department of Local Affairs, the maximum
levy authorized by [C.R.S 29-1-301] would be 1.905.
After conferring with Marion Richter, President of the Galeton Fire
Protection District he agreed the pension fund should not have been
added and requested the levy be changed to 1,905.
We ask the commissioners to adjust the levy to reflect the 1 .905.
maximum.
