RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF "STOP AHEAD" AND "STOP" SIGNS ON WELD
COUNTY ROAD 17 AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH WELD COUNTY ROAD 26
AND "BLIND CORNER" ADVISORY SIGNS ON THAT PORTION OF WELD
COUNTY ROAD 26
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Road and Bridge Department has
recommended to the Board that "Stop Ahead" and "Stop" signs be
installed on Weld County Road 17 at its intersection with Weld
County Road 26, and
WHEREAS, it is further recommended that "Blind Corner"
advisory signs be installed on Weld County Road 26 , said signs to
be in conjunction with the "Side Road" signs already installed
there, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board has determined that said
traffic control devices are necessary for the protection of the
general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Road and Bridge
Department be, and hereby is, directed to install "Stop Ahead" and
"Stop" signs on Weld County Road 17 at its intersection with Weld
County Road 26, and "Blind Corner" advisory signs on Weld County
Road 26 . Said signs , which must conform to the State manual and
specifications, are to be installed for the safety of the general
public.

Attached is a reaamendatin for additional signing at the intersection
of Weld County Roads 17 and 26 fran our Maintenance-Support Supervisor,
Marc Street. The recommendation is to place "Stop" and "Stop Ahead" signs
on Weld County Road 17 and "Blind Corner" advisory signs installed in
conjunction with the "Sideroad" signs on Weld County Road 26.

subject: Proposed Signing at Weld County Roadcl7 and 76
It has been brought to my attention through a complaint that there
is a traffic hazard at the intersection of Weld County Roads 17 and
26 (copy of complaint attached). Approaching the intersection on
Weld County Road 17 south to Weld County Road 26, there is no visi-
bility to traffic traveling west on Weld County Road 26. The fields
at this point are higher than the roadway.
It is my recommendation that "Stop" and "Stop Ahead" signs be placed
on Weld County Road 17. In addition, I recommend advisory signs of
"Blind Corner" be placed in conjunction with the "Sideroad" signs
on Weld County Road 26.
A diagram of the proposed signing is attached.
