RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF "STOP AHEAD" AND "STOP" SIGNS AT THE
INTERSECTION OF LONE PINE STREET LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY
LIMITS OF FORT LUPTON AND SOUTH MCKINLEY STREET IN WELD
COUNTY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Engineering has
recommended to the Board that "Stop Ahead" and "Stop" signs be
installed at the intersection of Lone Pine Street and South
McKinley Avenue to insure the safety of the traveling public, and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Lupton has agreed to maintain said
signs at the intersection after being installed by Weld County,
and
WHEREAS , after reviewing the recommendation of the Department
of Engineering, the Board has determined that said traffic control
devices are necessary for the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Department of
Engineering be, and hereby is , directed to install "Stop Ahead"
and "Stop" signs at the intersection of Lone Pine Street and South
McKinley Avenue, said signs must conform to the State manual and
specifications.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the City of Ft.
Lupton shall be responsible for the maintenance of said signs
after installation.

RE: Installation and Maintenance of Stop Signs at Lone Pine Street
in the City of Ft. Lupton and South McKinley Avenue in Weld County.
Dear Bob:
This letter is regarding our 'telephone conversation on October 1, 1987.
Upon approval by the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County will install
the stop signs at this intersection. However, once the installation has
been completed, it would be the responsibility of the City of Ft. Lupton
to maintain these signs.
Please return the signed original of this letter, if this arrangement is
agreeable to you. I have enclosed a copy of it for your files.

AND SOUTH McKINLEY AVE IN WELD COUNTY
Dear Drew:
At the intersection of Lone Pine Street in the City and South
McKinley Avenue in Weld County, there is a need to install a four
way stop.
We have had numberous complaints from area residents about this
intersection. Due to the unusual cirmcumstances of the traffic
pattern, I recommend a four way stop.
The City is willing to install the proper signs . Two of these
would be on county right-of-way. However, I would request that
the County assume the maintenance of the signs after
installation .
Please advise me as to your decision or any recommendation that
you may have .
