RE: PRELIMINARY HEARING TO CONSIDER CREATION OF A LOCAL IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT TO BE DESIGNATED AS WELD COUNTY KNAUS SUBDIVISON, FIRST
FILING, LOCAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 1989-3
A public hearing was conducted on July 17, 1989, at 9:00 A.M. , with the
following present:
Commissioner C.W. Kirby, Chairman
Commissioner Jacqueline Johnson, Pro-Tem
Commissioner Gene Brantner
Commissioner George Kennedy
Commissioner Gordon E. Lacy
Also present:
Acting Clerk to the Board, Mary Reiff
Assistant County Attorney, Lee D. Morrison
Director of Engineering Services, Drew Scheltinga
The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that a public preliminary hearing was conducted to
consider declaring the intent of the Board of County Commissioners to
create a local improvement district, to be designated as Weld County
Knaus Subdivison, First Filing, Local Improvement District No. 1989-3.
Lee Morrison, Assistant County Attorney, made this matter of record.
He noted that the property owners had been notified by mail of this
hearing. Drew Scheltinga, Director of Engineering Services, explained
the work which is proposed to be done in this district. He said the
district would be composed of all lots in Knaus Subdivision, First
Filing, plus one lot to the south. The cost is estimated to be
$29,185.00. Mr. Scheltinga requested permission to advertise for bids
immediately so the work could be completed during the current
construction season. Public comment was offered by Margaret Dolby,
Dwight Schmidt, and Barbara Larimore, all of whom are anxious to get
the project going. Commissioner Lacy moved to approve the Resolution
declaring the intent of the Board to create said district and to
authorize the advertisement for bids prior to conducting a creation
hearing. The motion, seconded by Commissioner Kennedy, carried
unanimously.
This Certification was approved on the 24th day of June, 1989.
