Home My WebLink About871128.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN WELD COUNTY AND CITY OF GREELEY AND AUTHORIZE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS , the Board has been presented with an Intergovernmental Agreement between Weld County and the City of Greeley regarding 59th Avenue and 35th Avenue, portions of which lie within the City of Greeley and portions of which lie within Weld County, and WHEREAS , the terms and conditions are as stated in said Intergovernmental Agreement, and. WHEREAS, after study and review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said Intergovernmental Agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the aforementioned Intergovermental Agreement be, and hereby is , approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chairman be , and hereby is, authorized to sign said Intergovernmental Agreement. Sincerely , Steve Bagley Administrative Engineer Public Works Department clw Attachments 871128 COUNTY OF WELD, STATE OF COLORADO INTER-GOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 24th day of August , 1987, by and between the COUNTY OF WELD, State of Colorado, hereinafter called "County" and the CITY OF GREELEY, hereinafter called "City". WHEREAS, the City has completed a demonstration program using fly-ash base stabilization to repair 59th Avenue, and WHEREAS, a portion of 59th Avenue lies within the County, and WHEREAS, the County indicated their willingness to participate in the repair of 59th Avenue on a 50 percent basis not to exceed $6,900, and WHEREAS, the demonstration project has been completed and the final cost determined to be $14,771.02, and WHEREAS, the County overlayed 35th Avenue south of the US 34 Bypass, and WHEREAS, a portion of 35th Avenue lies within the city of Greeley, and WHEREAS, the City indicated their willingness to participate in the 35th Avenue overlay, and WHEREAS, the portion of asphalt placed within the City limits of Greeley is valued at $1,500, and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the citizens of the City and County that the 59th Avenue has been repaired and 35th Avenue has been overlayed. NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and conditions hereinafter set forth, the County and City mutually agree as follows: 1. The County will provide $6,900 toward the 59th Avenue project and the City will provide $1,500 toward the 35th Avenue project. 2. The net amount of $5,400 will be forwarded to the City by Weld County upon execution of this agreement by both parties.
