In re: Your resolution to promote the spirit of Americanism
Dear Comrades:
Although your resolution to promote the spirit of Americanism is
interesting and may well deserve broad support, its premise, as defined by
the media for public consumption, is to vague to warrant commitment on the
part of this office and, for that reason, this office does not necessarily
support the position adopted by the Weld County Board of Commissioners in
that respect.
Please furnish this office a copy of the said resolution and
advise, with specificity, concerning your priorities and commitments in
that regard, whereby this office may be sufficiently advised and, thereby,
take an informed position with respect to commitment and contribution in
that regard, commensurate with its apparent course of persuasion.
Finally, in that the term "Americanism_" is synonymous with the
term "diversity," you will appreciate our need of specific advisement
concerning the premise and primary objects of your resolution, as you will
also appreciate our position of prudent discretion with respect thereto,
hence you will observe this overture in the dignity dictated by your
conscience.
