The Department's Division of Highways accepted seven bids at the Nov. 21 opening for a combined project for Interstate 76 bridges and approaches near Lowell Blvd. in Adams county. A joint venture of Robert Dougan Construction Co. and Cat Construction Co. of Denver submitted an apparently successful bid of $2,729,910. Work consists of two bridges, drainage structures, grading, lighting, topsoil, seeding and mulching, beginning half a mile west of Lowell Blvd. and extending four tenths of a mile east. The project calls for completion within 300 calendar days from its Notice to Proceed. Resident engineer is Steve Horton of Arvada. 0 0 0 BRF 036-1(30) DENVER-BOULDER TURNPIKE AT BROADWAY-INTERCHANGE Tectonic Construction Co. of Englewood turned in an apparently successful bid of $1,533,723 at the Division of Highways November 21 opening for improvements on the Denver-Boulder Turnpike at Broadway in Adams county. Ten firms bid the project which is scheduled to be completed within 210 workable days from its Notice to Proceed. The project consists of stabilization, bridge, retaining walls, hot bituminous pavement, topsoil, seeding and mulching, structures, guardrail, and striping. The project is located on U.S. 36 beginning a tenth of a mile west of the Broadway Interchange and extending three tenths of a mile east. Joe Seitz, resident engineer for Denver will coordinate this project. 0 0 0 BRO 0009(3) S.H. 202 NEAR ROCKY FORD Bridge replacement on S.H. 202 west of Rocky Ford drew nine bidders at the Division of Highways Nov. 21 opening. An apparently successful bid of $247,247 was received from T.L. Printz Construction Co. of Pueblo. The project consists of grading, stabilization, structures, a bridge, striping, hot bituminous pavement and guardrail, beginning 1.4 miles west of Rocky Ford at a crossing of the Catlin Canal and extending one tenth of a mile west. Resident engineer is William Rizley, Jr. of Pueblo. O 0 0 RS 0145(11) S.H. 145 AT CORNET CREEK IN TELLURIDE Resident engineer Keith Durfee of Durango will coordinate a culvert replacement on S.H. 145 at Cornet Creek in Telluride, if contract award follows Division of Highways Nov. 21 bidding activity. Nikko Construction, Inc. of Grand Junction submitted an apparently successful bid of $116,585 for a project which includes a concrete box culvert, stabilization, sidewalk, curb, and gutter. Four firms bid the project, which requires completion within 40 working days following its Notice to Proceed. O 0 0 HES 0003(21) S.H. 340 EAST OF FRUITA Crabtree Corporation of Denver submitted an apparently successful bid of $124,828 at the Division of Highways Nov. 21 opening for a minor realignment, guardrail work located on S.H. 340 at two locations, 3.2 and 5.7 miles east of Fruits. Work will consist of grading, structures, stabilization, seeding, hot bituminous pavement and guardrail. Five firms bid the project, which calls for completion within 20 workable days. Resident engineer William Nelson of Grand Junction will. coordinate this project. O 0 0 MR 4087(1) 75TH STREET IN BOULDER The Department's Division of Highways accepted four bids at the Nov. 21 opening for a project to construct a concrete bikepath along with road work near the 75th Street and Lookout Road intersection in Boulder. Flatiron Paving of Boulder submitted an apparently successful bid of $396,698. Work consists of grading, stabilization, concrete box culvert, structures, hot bituminous pavement, concrete pavement, signing, striping, topsoil, seeding, mulching, and concrete bikepath, beginning about six tenths of a mile south of the intersection with Lookout Road, and extending six tenths of a mile north.
