RE: APPROVE REQUEST FROM STATE OF COLORADO DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS
TO INSTALL "STOP AHEAD" AND "STOP" SIGNS ON WELD COUNTY ROAD
21 AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH WELD COUNTY ROAD 28
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the State of Colorado Division of Highways is
planning to rebuild the bridge over the Platte River on State
Highway 66 west of Platteville and will be using Weld County Roads
21 and 28 for a detour route, and
WHEREAS, due to heavier traffic on said Roads, the Division
of Highways has requested permission to place "Stop Ahead" and
"Stop" signs on Weld County Road 21 at the intersection with Weld
County Road 28 , for a period beginning October, 1987 , and ending
April, 1988 , and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to
approve the installation of traffic control devices at said
intersection.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the request from the
State of Colorado Division of Highways for permission to place
"Stop Ahead" and "Stop" signs on Weld County Road 21 and its
intersection with Weld County Road 28 be, and hereby is, approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 23rd day of
September, A.D. , 1987.

As you are aware, the Colorado Department of Highways is planning to
rebuild the bridge over the Platte River on State Highway 66, west of
Platteville. Construction will begin the first of October 1987 and continue
until April 1988. During this time the Department will be using Weld County
Road 28 and Weld County Road 21 as a detour route.
Due to the heavier traffic on these county roads during this construction,
we would like to place a stop sign and stop ahead sign on County Road 21 at the
intersection of County Road 28. These signs will be removed at the end of
construction unless requested otherwise.
