RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF "STOP" SIGNS AT TWO INTERSECTIONS IN
WESTVIEW ESTATES
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado , pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering has informed the Board
of a request to install "Stop" signs in Westview Estates at the
intersections of Buffalo Road and Weld County Road 1 and Westview
Road and Weld County Road 1 , and
WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the Department of
Engineering, the Board deems it advisable to install said traffic
control devices at those two intersections for the protection of
the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Department of
Engineering be, and hereby is , directed to install "Stop" signs at
the intersection of Buffalo Road and Weld County Road 1 and the
intersection of Westview Road and Weld County Road 1 in Westview
Estates , said signs must conform to the State manual and
specifications and are for the safety of the general public.
The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 7th day of
April, A.D. , 1986 , nunc pro tunc October 22 , 1985.

Subject. "Stop" Sign Request from Patrick E. Wolfe - Westview Estates
Attached is a copy of our October 22, 1985 memorandum to the Board
of Weld County Commissioners with our recommendation to place "Stop"
signs in Westview Estates Subdivision. As we do not appear to have
a Resolution for these "Stop" signs, this inadvertently did not get
included in a Board Meeting.
Please place this on an upcoming agenda for the Board's review. (It
might be noted that these "Stop" signs have already been installed. )

Subject: "Stop" Sign Request from Patrick E. Wolfe - Westview Estates
Attached is a memorandum I received from Jack Slife, our Maintenance-
Support Supervisor, regarding a "Stop" Sign Request from Patrick E. Wolfe.
I concur with Jack Slife's findings and, therefore, recommend that
30" X 30" "Stop" signs be placed at:
Intersection of Buffalo Road and Weld County Road 1
Intersection of Westview Road and Weld County Road 1
Please let me know if we need to submit this to Clerk to the Board for
placement on a Board meeting's agenda, or if you will handle it.
If you have any questions, please let me know.

subject: "Stop" Sign Request from Patrick E. Wolfe - Westview Estates
We have received a request from Patrick E. Wolfe, a resident of
Westview Estates, to install a "Stop" sign at both entrances to
Westview Estates (Buffalo Road and Westview Road). These roads
exit onto Weld County Road 1.
Weld County Road 1 has an oil surface and is a direct route from
the Erie area for traffic traveling north. After checking this
area, I would recommend that a 30" X 30" "Stop" sign be placed at
the intersection of Buffalo Road and Weld County Road 1 and one
also be placed at the intersection of Westview Road and Weld
County Road 1 to control the traffic exiting from Westview
Estates. This will leave Weld County Road 1 open to through
traffic. A sketch is attached.
