RE: APPROVE CONTRACT FOR LEGAL SERVICES WITH ANN MEYER AND
AUTHORIZE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS , the Board has been presented with a Contract for
Legal Services with Ann Meyer, concerning litigation which has
been commenced against Weld County, and
WHEREAS , the terms and conditions are as stated in said
Contract, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated
herein by reference, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to
approve said Contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Contract for
Legal Services with Ann Meyer be, and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chairman be, and
hereby is, authorized to sign said Contract.
The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 22nd day of
February, A.D. , 1989 .

CONTRACT FOR LEGAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, litigation has been commenced against Weld County,
Colorado, the title of such litigation being, Garcia v. Weld
County, self insured, the same being an action for Workmens
Compensation and known as WC No. 3-712-559 , and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners finds it necessary
to employ special counsel to assist in the defense of this action,
and
WHEREAS, Section 5-4 of the Weld County Home Rule Charter
allows the Board to appoint special counsel .
NOW, THEREFORE, it is agreed by and between the Board of
County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, and Ann Meyer,
Attorney-at-Law, Watson, Nathan, and Bremer, 3900 E. Mexico, Suite
1000 , Denver, CO, 80210 , that said attorney will assist and
represent Weld County as co-counsel through all legal proceedings
in said WC No. 3-712-559 now pending. Weld County agrees to
reimburse special counsel at the hourly rate of $90 . 00 together
with all costs expended and shall provide for such reimbursement
within thirty (30) days after special counsel has submitted a
statement for services.
