RE: ACTION OF THE BOARD CONCERNING REQUEST FOR INSTALLATION OF A
STOP SIGN ON WELD COUNTY ROAD 66 AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH
WELD COUNTY ROAD 61
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS , the Board has received a request from Platte Valley
Schools for the installation of a stop sign on Weld County Road 66
at its intersection with Weld County Road 61 , and
WHEREAS , after review, the Board deems it advisable to refer
this matter to the Weld County Engineering Department for
recommendation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the request of Platte
Valley Schools concerning the installation of a stop sign be, and
hereby is , referred to the Weld County Engineering Department for
recommendation.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 9th day of
September, A.D. , 1987 .

Gentlemen:
I am writing to call your attention to an apparent need for a stop
sign on Weld County Road 66 where it intersects Weld County Road
61 . One of our school bus drivers reports there have been several
close calls as well as an accident last year at that corner.
