I 70-2 (109) INTERSTATE 70 IN GLENWOOD CANYON
The Department's Division of Highways accepted four bids at the
November 14 opening for a major construction project in Glenwood Canyon. The
project consists of Interstate 70 grading, structures, retaining walls, bridges,
stabilization, hot bituminous and concrete pavement, seeding, mulching, and strip-
ing; it begins 2.4 miles east of Glenwood Springs and extends 2.2 miles east-
erly. This project will build eastbound lanes.
Kiewit Western Company of Littleton turned in an apparently
successful bid of $ 7,809,721 for the project, which is to have roadway open
to traffic by Novenber 1, 1986 and requires currpletion by May 15, 1987.
Richard Orton of Glenwood Springs is resident engineer.
C 02-0050-18 U.S. 50 NEAR DEVINE
AAA Roofing Canpany of Pueblo turned in an apparently successful
bid of $ 698, 196 at the Division of Highways November 14 opening to resurface
U.S. 50 near Devine, beginning five and a half miles east of Pueblo at
the junction with S.H. 231 and extending 4.9 miles east. Work includes
hot bituminous payment overlay and striping.
Eight firns submitted offers. After the project begins, construc-
tion is to be completed within thirty workable days. Resident engineer is
Dale Snag of Pueblo.

Replacing the bridge over Williams Creek on Hinsdale County Road 3
drew seven bidders at the Division of Highways November 14 opening. G. A.
Western Construction Company of Clifton submitted an apparently successful bid
of $ 96,209.
Work elements also include grading, stabilization, hot bituminous
pavement, seeding and mulching. The time required for completion of this
project is 45 workable days following the Notice to Ptoace 1. Jerrold Jackson
of Montrose is resident engineer.

MP-CC 10-0225-04 I-225 NORTH OF JEWELL AVE., AURORA
Division of Highways engineers accepted six bids at the November
14 opening for a project to inprove drainage on Interstate 225 north of
Jewell Avenue in Aurora. The project consists of structures and signing.
Wycon Construction Company of Brownfield submitted an apparent-
ly successful bid of $ 97,431. The time required to complete this project
is thirty working days after the Notice to Proceed. Resident engineer
Bernie Paiz of Aurora will coordinate this project.

10:00 a.m., Resurfacing S.H. 42 north of Louisville, consisting
of hot bituminous pavement overlay, beginning at the S.H. 7 junction and ex-
tending south about two miles to South Boulder Road, in Boulder county,
MP 07-0042-02.
10:15 a.m., Rehabilitating an Interstate 76 bridge in Logan
county, including grading, structures, hot bituminous pavement, bridge widen-
ing, topsoil, seeding, and mulching, located at structure number B-24-AN over
the Burlington Northern railroad tracks, about 1.4 miles northeast of Sterling,
IR 76-2(23) .
