RE: DIRECT DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING SERVICES STAFF TO INITIATE
REZONING OF GREELEY-WELD COUNTY AIRPORT
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Planning Services has recommended
that the Board authorize the initiation of rezoning for the
Greeley-Weld County Airport to a Planned Unit Development zoning
classification, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Planning Services is recommending
said rezoning because the Planned Unit Development zoning should
better facilitate the future development of the airport, and
WHEREAS, the existing zoning classifications for the
Greeley-Weld County Airport are A (Agricultural) and I-3
(Industrial) , and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to accept
the recommendation of the Department of Planning Services staff to
initiate the rezoning of the Greeley-Weld County Airport.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Department of
Planning Services staff be, and hereby is, directed to initiate a
Change of Zone for the Greeley-Weld County Airport.

subject: Recommendation to initiate a rezoning
The Department of Planning Services recommends that the Board direct the
staff to initiate a rezoning of the Greeley-Weld County Airport. The
department is recommending that the existing A (Agricultural) and I-3
(Industrial) zoning classifications be changed to a Planned Unit Development
zone classification. The rezoning is necessary to eliminate potential
conflicts between existing and future uses and the existing zoning
classifications. The department feels that the Planned Unit Development
zoning classification would better facilitate the future development of the
airport than the existing zoning classifications. The rezoning would be in
cooperation with and coordinated with the efforts to update the Airport
Master Plan currently under way.
