We, the members of the Weld County Board of Health, continue to be most
concerned about the health and environmental services to the citizens
of Weld County.
We regret that an adversary relationship has developed between the
present Board of Health and the Board of County Commissioners. We
are convinced that the Amendment No. 4 to the Home Rule Charter
would have passed without the confusion generated by your Amendment No. 3.
We have spent much time on matters of deep concern only to have our
deliberation go unheeded.
Because of this adversary relationship, we feel that the best interests
of the citizens of Weld County are no longer being served.
Therefore, we the undersigned, all of the members of the Weld County
Board of Health, herewith submit our resignation effective immediately.
We would urge the Commissioners to consider strongly whether or not
they really want to appoint a new Board, or if, in fact, they wish to
continue to make all of the decisions related to the Health Department.
