Dear Chairman Martin:
The Fire District Board has become aware of your proposal to form a
special taxing district in southern Weld County to finance ambulance services.
The Board has gone on record at its October 6, 1982 meeting to oppose the
formation of the taxing district within the boundaries of the Brighton Fire
Protection District.
We oppose the inclusion of our district on two basises (1) the Brighton
Fire Protection District provides both fire fighting and emergency rescue and
care services within our boundaries and (2) Platte Valley Ambulance has, since
1971, served within our fire district boundaries and will continue to do so.
As a result, we specifically oppose including the Brighton Fire Protec-
tion District in your proposed ambulance service taxing district.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County has proposed
the establishment of the Central Weld Ambulance Special Taxing District
pursuant to C.R.S. 1973 ®30-35-901, et seq. , in order to provide ambulance
and emergency medical treatment, by means of a resolution of September 15,
1982; and,
WHEREAS, the district is proposed to include territory within this
municipality; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest of the citizens of this munici-
pality to have the services provided by the district within the municipality;
and,
WHEREAS, consent of this governing body, pursuant to C.R.S. 1973,
S30-35-103(2), is required before such services may be provided within this
municipality or an assessment, tax or levy made on property within this
municipality
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of the Town of
Platteville that consent is hereby given for the inclusion of the municipality
of Platteville into the Central Weld Ambulance Special Taxing District, the
furnishing of services by the district within the corporate limits of this
municipality, the assessment of an ad valorum tax on property within the
corporate limits of the municipality to finance the district and the collec-
tion of fees for services rendered within the corporate limits of this
municipality.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of October, 1982.
