RE: APPOINTMENT OF ERIC BUSCH, JOHN MICHAELS AND REV. SIMON
MELENDREZ TO PLACEMENT ALTERNATIVES COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, three vacanciestourreftlly exist on the Placement
Alternatives Commission due to the resignation of two of the
members, and
WHEREAS, the third vacancy exists due to recent amendments
to the legislation concerning Placement Alternatives Commissions
requiring that at least fifty percent of the members be from
the private sector, and
WHEREAS, the Placement Alternatives Commission has recom-
mended that the Board appoint Eric Busch, employee of Our House,
Inc. ; Sgt. John Michaels, Windsor Police Department; and Rev.
Simon Melendrez, lay person from the community, to serve on said
Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that Eric Busch, John Michaels
and Rev. Simon Melendrez be, and hereby are, appointed to serve
on the Placement Alternatives Commission.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 12th day of
April, A.D. , 1982.

RE: Placement Alternatives
Commission Appointments
Dear Mr. Martin:
As Chairman of the Weld County Placement Alternatives Commission I am
requesting that the Board of County Commissioners appoint the following
people, Eric Busch, John Michaels, and Rev. Simon Melendrez.
Mr. Busch has been recommended to replace Ms. Rose Anson who resigned
due to a change in employment. Mr. Busch is an employee of Our House,
Inc.
Sgt. John Michaels has been recommended to replace Chief Walter Teal
who resigned due to time constraints. Sgt. Michaels is employed by the
Windsor Police Department.
Rev. Simon Melendrez has been recommended as an additional citizen representative.
Recent amendments to the legislation concerning Placement Alternatives
Commissions requires that at least fifty percent of the members be from
the private sector. With the addition of Rev. Melendrez the Weld County
PAC will meet this requirement.

Dear Mr. Steele:
It is necessary for me to resign from the Placement Alternatives Commission
as the representative from Our House, Inc. I have accepted employment with
the Weld County Department of Social Services. I would like to recommend
that Eric Busch be appointed to the Commission in my place.
It was a pleasure serving on the PAC and I will look forward to hearing
about its continued success.

Dear Lee:
I have found that I do not have the time to devote to the
Placement Alternative Commission as I had originally
anticipated. Therefore, this letter will serve as my
resignation to become effective immediately.
I know the work you and the other members are doing is very
important to the kids of Weld County. Keep up the good work
and dedication which you all have shown during those meetings
I was in attendance.
I would like to recommend a replacement to you for the
Commissioners consideration: Sgt. John Michaels of the Windsor
Police Department. John is now and has been for the last two years,
Juvenile Officer of my Department, and is very interested in youth
and their problems.
Please express my thanks, and regrets to the other members.
