REMARKS:
February caseloads continued to show an increase in the Aid to Dependent Children category
as well as in Food Stamys. The ADC load increased by 37 households with the number of
households headed by unemployed males (112) reaching the highest level since April, 1975.
Food Stamp issuance remained at a high level with 3,041 households receiving these benefits
during February.
Expenditures for February (excluding Old Age Pension and Food Stamps) were $655,756. This
amount was $32,849 higher than the previous month and $69,877 higher than the same month in
1979. Total expenditures for the Department remained within the total budget with 16.1%
expended after two months.
