RESOLUTION
RE: ACCEPTANCE OF RESIGNATION OF WAYNE SMYTH AS COUNTY
ENGINEER
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Wayne Smyth has submitted to the Board of County
Commissioners, his letter of resignation as County Engineer,
and
WHEREAS, the Board has, at its meeting of October 7, 1981,
decided to accept said letter of resignation, with regret.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado that the resignation
letter of Wayne Smyth as County Engineer for Weld County be,
and hereby is, accepted with regret.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly
made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 7th
day of October, A. D. , 1981.

Board Members:
I hereby submit my resignation as Director of Engineering,
effective November 6, 1981 .
I have accepted a position with East Carolina University in
Greenville, North Carolina, as Plant Engineer at the new Medical
School presently under construction. I feel that this
appointment is an opportunity for continued professional growth
that I cannot afford to pass up.
I feel very good about the Road and Bridge operation as I
leave, and about the relationship I have had with both the Board
and fellow employees of Weld County. A mutual spirit of
cooperation has made it possible to achieve many of our coals
already.
I sincerely thank the Board members for giving me the oppor-
tunity to serve Weld County in this challenging position for the
past three years.
