HomeMy WebLinkAbout841156.tiff RESOLUTION RE: USE OF CONSERVATION TRUST FUNDS. WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, in accordance with SB119 passed in 1982 , 40% of the proceeds of the lottery are earmarked for Conservation Trust Funds in local governments, and WHEREAS, the funds have to be used for the acquisition, development and maintenance of new conservation sites or for capital improvements or maintenance for recreational purposes on any public site, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld desires to establish a policy that will determine the best use of these funds in Weld County to enhance the quality of life in all of Weld County, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County have received numerous requests for the use of the Conservation trust Funds in Weld County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it shall be the policy of the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County that the criteria for the use and allocation of Weld County Conservation Trust Funds shall be as follows: 1 . To maintain and develop the two existing county parks. 2 . Projects must enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Weld County. 3 . Projects must contribute to and complement the economic development activities of Weld County. 4 . Projects must have a county-wide impact or significance. 5 . Funds used for local community projects must have substantial local support and matching local funds. 6 . Outside of existing county parks no operating funds shall be contributed to projects. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners that beginning in 1985 , the County shall solicit proposals from throughout the County each year for final submission by May 1 for the preceding year' s funding. 841156 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners that the maximum Weld County contribution to the Civic Auditorium located in Greeley shall be $500 ,000 with all allocated funds returned to the County if construction is not commenced by the end of fiscal year 1986 . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Administration is directed to develop an application and review process to accommodate the above policy. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 13th day of November, A.D. , 1984 .
