MINUTES
WELD COUNTY COUNCIL
August 4, 1983

The Weld County Council met in regular session in full conformity with
the Weld County Home Rule Charter at 915 Tenth Street, Greeley, Colorado,
August 4, 1983, at 1 :45 p.m.
ROLL CALL
The following members were present in person: President Don Elliott,
Vice President DeAnn Emerson, Patricia Anderson and Ralph Waldo. Bill Rupp
was absent. Also present were two members of the press and the council secretary.
MINUTES APPROVED
The minutes of July 7, 1983, were approved as written.
ADDITIONS AND/OR DELETIONS
As per a memo from the commissioners office, the Elected Officials meeting
for August has been cancelled. This appointment was deleted from the agenda.
Discussion of possible charter amendments was added to the agenda as
Unfinished Business rather than being considered in a worksession following the
regular meeting.
APPOINTMENTS
The President reminded the council of their upcoming appointments.
CORRESPONDENCE
The President made the correspondence file available for the individual
review of the council members.
REPORTS
An Objective Tracking Statement report was submitted to the Finance Depart-
ment in July. A copy of this report was presented to the council for review.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
A discussion ensued regarding which of the eight remaining charter amendments
the council would like to continue considering. By unanimous vote, the following
items will remain under consideration: performance auditor/authority of County
Council and special tax districts. The bidding procedure limit was tabled until
Bill Rupp will be in attendance. In view of Mary Ann Feuerstein's reply to the
council regarding the lack of provision for write-in council candidates, this
suggested amendment will not require further action by the council .
NEW BUSINESS
The council was informed that Patricia Anderson will be a member of the Road
and Bridge Ad Hoc Committee.
Ralph Waldo moved that the July council bills be paid. This motion was
seconded by DeAnn Emerson and carried unanimously.

ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. The time
of adjournment was 3:00 p.m. , August 4, 1983.
The next scheduled meeting is Thursday, September 1 , 1983, at 1 :45 p.m.
