RESOLUTION RE: AMME+NDIv NT TO
AGREEMENT FOR COUNTY EXTENSION WORK.
WHEREAS, by resolution of the Board and amended agreement with the State
Agricultural College and The United States Department of Agriculture, expense allow-
ances, for the year 1941, of $375.00 for the Assistant County Extension Agent and
$800.00 for the Assistant Home DemonstrationAgent have been proveded, and,
WHEREAS, the expense allowance of the Assistant County Extension Agent
has been expended during the period ending September 2nd, 1941, and,
WHEREAS, it appears that the $800.00 expense allowance for the Assistant
Home Demonstration Agent is in excess of the requirements for the year 1941 and it
further appears that $150.00 is available for transfer to the expense allowance for
the Assistant County Extension Agent without adversely affecting the service of the
Assistant Home Demonstration Agent.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that, subject to the written approval of
proper authorities representing the Colorado Agriculture College and The United States
Department of Agrculture, the agreement for Extension Work in Agriculture and Home
Economics in Weld County be amended as follows:
Total Expense Per Year
from Weld County Funds.
Assistant Count Extension Agent (Bishop) $525.00
Assistant County Home Demonstration Agent (Taylor) 650.00
On motion duly madeand seconded, the above and foregoing resolutions was
adopted by the following vote.

On motion duly made and seconded, it, was, -
RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
enter into the agreement9 a copy of which is hereto attatched and made a part of this
resolution, between the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, act-
ing for and on behalf of the Greeley Hospital, owned and operated by Weld County,
Colorado under the direction of the Board of County Commissioners, and the Associated
Students of Colorado State College of Education. -
The resolution was adopted by the following vote and so ordered.

Grader, Serial No. 1797, now located at Briggsdale.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the offer be and hereby is accepted.
The mntion was duly seconded by Commissioner Ford and the resolution unanimously
adopted.

to June 14, 1941, rendered services at the Greeley Hospital to amount of $506.20, and
said account 'is wholly unpaid, and that neither II[rs. Dale Willis nor here husband,
Dale Willis have funds or property from which said account can be collected,
AND WHEREAS, said Mr. and Mrs. Dale Willis offer and tender in full settlement
of said account: $143.30, and on investigation this Board believes a greater amount can
not be collected thereon,
NOW THEREFORE BL IT RESOLVED, that 4143.30 cas be accepted in full settlement and

IN DEED TO COUNTY.
WHEREAS, after investigation and hearing had by this Board of County Commissioners,
it appears that certain real estate, to-wit:
E. - Section 9 Township 5 North, Range 61 West in Weld County, Colorado,
was sold in December, 1936 for delinquent taxes accessed for the year 1935 amounting to
$62.97 and tax certificate Number 773 of said 1936 tax sale was issued thereon to Weld
County, Colorado, under said tax certificate, applied for and received a treasurer's
deed for said land; that in the procedure of said tax sale, the notices of issuance of
said deed were not given as required by law and because thereof, the said treasurer's
deed so issued to Weld County was and is void; that under said deed, Weld County,
Colorado made a lease of said land for grazing purposes to one C. E. Williams, to ex-
pire April 15, 1942, for the sum of $ 16.00; that the present owner of said land off-
ers to pay said delinquent taxes on said land, $62.97 less a credit of $16 leasing
fee received by the County thereon, leading the balance due of said delinquent taxes
$46.97, and further,the owner offers to pay the current taxes on said land assessed
for the year 1940 and payable in 1941 in the amount of $13. 27 or a total payment of
$60.24 provided Weld County will authorize execution of a quit claim deed on behalf of
the county to the present owner subject to the present lease thereon expiiring April
15, 1942, all for the purpose of clearing the title of daid property from the cloud of
said void treasurer's deed,
Now therefore, The Board of County Commissioners of Weld L'ounty, Colorado, desir-
ing so to clear the title of the above described land from the cloud of the aforesaid
void treasurer' s deed and in consideration of the payment of the delinquent and current
taxes against the same in the sum of $60.24, does hereby appoint Harvey E. Witwer
County Treasurer of Weld County,Colorado, as commissioner for and on behalf of said
Weld County, Colorado, to execute and deliver a quit claim deed for said land to-wit:

of deceased or of John Gianulis, her husband, form which said account can be collected.
AND WHEREAS, said John Gianulis husband of deceased offers to borrow $200 and
tender same in full settlement of said accoutn, and On investigation this Board believew
said John Gianulis cannot borrow or pay any more, and a greater amount cannot be
collected thereon,

MRS IONA OWEN AS A TRIBUTE TO
THE MEMORY OF CHARLES BENJAMIN OWEN.
$3600,00 to Special Hospital Acct.
WHEREAS, Dr. W. E. Thompson has presented in this office, ih behalf of Mrs. Iona
Owen, a check in the amount of $3600.00 to be used for the benefit and improvement of
the Greeley Hospital as a tribute to the memory of Charles Benjamin Owen, and,
WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado desires to
accept the gift of Mrs. Owen for the benefit and improvement of the Greeley Hospital
and, by so doing, wishes to express appreciation therefor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado that this Boara does accept said gift of $3600.00 for the use and
benefit only of the Greeley Hospital: that said sum and amount be deposited in and
credited to the "Special Hospital Account" and that it not be diverted or used or ex-
pended except only "for the use and benefit of said hospital".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Board provide and have installed a plaque with
suitable inscription in a proper place in the Greeley hospital.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that copies of this resolution be mailed to Mrs. Iona
Owen and to Dr. W. E. Tho .pson as an expression of the appreciation of this Board.

WHEREAS, S. E. SPURRIER, of Weld County Colorado, has presented to the Board of
County Commissioners of Weld County his applicat on for a County Retail license for
the sale of 3.2% beer only, and the said applican , having paid to the County Trea
surer of Weld County the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) therefor, and habing produced
a state retail license for sale of 3.2% beer only, outside the corporate limits of any
town or city in the County of Weld, at the location described as follows:
COLUMBINE CASINO, SERENE, COLORADO
And the County Commissioners, having examined the said application and the other
qualifications of the applicant do hereby grant a license to said applicant to seal
3.2% beer only at retail, at said place , and do hereby authorize and direct the issu-
ance of said license by the Chairman of the Board, attested by the County Clerk and
Recorder of Weld County, good for one year from the date of issue unless revoked, ac-
cording to law, provided, however, that said license shall be issued upon the express
condition and agreement that the place where license is authorized to sell beer under
said license will be conducted in strict conformity to all laws of the State of Colo-
rado and rules and regulations relating thereto heretofore , passed by the Board of
County Commissioners of Weld 'dounty, Colorado and any violation thereof shall be cause
for revocation of the license.

RESOLUTION FOR ISSUANCE AND
REGISTRY OF EXCESS WARRANTS
ON PAUPER FUND
WHEREAS, it appears from the records now available, and this Board does find
that by reason of the extraordinary and unforseen demands for relief upon the County
Pauper Fund, the said fund it~ how,exhausted. and there is not money left in said fund
with which to pay lawful claims against said fund from now until January 1, 1942, and,
WHEREA , it appears and the Board does find that by reason of the extraordinary
and onforseen demands upon the hospital fund there is insufficient money in said fund
to pay the claims now allowed or to be allowed against said fund from the present date
to January 1, 1942, and that. an emergency exists and that it is or will be necessary
to transfer forthwith the money in the contigency fund, to-wit: t10,000, or a major
portion thereof to said hospital fund to meet the defiency therein, and the money in
said contingent fund is by this Board earmarked for that purpose, and
WHEREAS, it appears and the Board does find that there is not sufficient money
allotted to any other spending agency within the general county revenue fund which can
be transfereed to said pauper fund therein to meet such deficiency , and
WHEREAS, it appears and the Board does find that an emergency exists, and the
claims presented and to be presented agcginst said pauper fund from date to January 1,
1942, must be ,met,
ThUiEFORE, be it resolved that this Board shall issue warrants against said
pauper fund in excess of its budget herein, for the purpose of meeting claims now
filed and to be filed against said .'fund from date hereof to January 1, 1942, and the
County Treasurer is hereby authorized to register such excess warrants against said
fund as presented, said excess warrants so issued and registered to be paid from a
special mill .levy to be made effective in 1942 for a special fund to liquidate, pay
and redeem said unpaid warrants as provided by Chapter 45, S. 205 C.S.A. 1935.

RESOLUTION RL: LOST TAX SALE CERTIFICA:LES
NOS. 656/1928 and 138/1930:
WHEREAS, The Henrylynn Iffigation District has filed with the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, affidavits of loss of tax sale certificate
numbered 138 of the 1930 tax sale covering the North Half (Nh) of the Northwest Quarter
(N i) of Section 27, Township 2 North, Range 64 West, which said tax sale certificate
was issued to the Tax Service Corporation and subsequently assigned to The Consolidated
Farms Company by the said Tax Service Corporation and subsequently the North Half of
the Northwest auarter(N*NW*) of Section 27, Township 2 North, Range 64 West was conveyed
to The Henrylynn Irrigation District by The Consolidated Farms Company with the Agree-
ment that the said tax sale certificate, that the said tax sale certificate numbered
138 of the 1930 tax sale would be delivered without further costto The Henrylynn Irri-
gation District in connection with the sale when and if the said tax sale certificate
could be found; and Tax sale certificate numbered 656 of the 1928 tax sale covering the
Norhteast Quarter (NE4) of Section 26, Township 1 North, Range 63 West, which certificate
was issued to The Tax Service Corporation and by them assigned to Fred R. Wright, and
that Chellie M. Wright, sole owner by descent, of said tax sale certificate numbered
656 of the 1928 tax sale, has, by agreement, transferred said tax sale certificate to
The Henrylynn Irrigation District; and that tax sale certificated sumbered 656 of the
1928 tax sale and 138 of the 1930 tax sale are lost and connot be found and are now
standing upon the records of Weld County unredeemed, and,
WHEREAS, satisfactory proff of loss of said certificates has been made to the
Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado and satisfactory surety bond for
double the amount of the Two certificates, as required by statute, has been tendered.
NOW, THEBEFO E, BE IT RESOLVED, that the County Treasurer be and hereby is author-
ized to redeem, upon receipt of fees only, tax sale certificate numbered 656 of the 1928
tax sale for the tax of 1927 oovering the Northeast Quarter (NE4) of Section 26, Town-
ship 1 Nortt, Range 63 West, and tax sale certificate numbered 138 of the 1930 tax sale
for the tax of 1929 covering the North Half of the Northwest Quarter(NlNW4) of Section
27, Township 2 North, Range 64 West without the surrender of the original certificates
of purchase.

COURT IN AND FOR WELD COUNTY
On motion duly made and seconded, it was,
RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado ap-
prove the appointment , effective November 1, 1941, of Homer Kidder as Probation Offi-
cer of the District Court in and for Weld County, Colorado at a monthly salary of
x25.00 per month with a travel expense allowance of four cents per mile actually and
necessairily traveled in performance of his duties as such Probation Officer.

DEFICIT IN SAID TUBERCULOSIS FUND.
WHEREAS, it appears that one of the spending agencies within the County Public
Welfare Fund, to-wit: the Tuberculosis Fund, has expended all of its budget and there
is no further money in said fund to pay claims now allowed and to be allowed against
said fund from the date hereof to January 1, 1942, and there is now a deficit in said
fund of _approximately $1900, and
WHEREAS, it appears and the Board finds that, by reason of the excessive and un-
forseen demands made upon said fund, there is a deficiency therin and that an emergency
exixts, and
Whereas it appears that there is and will be a surplus in the Aid for Dependent
Children agency or fund;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that $2, 300.00 be transferred from the aid to Depend-
ent Children Agency or fund to the Tuberculosis agency or fund, both said spending
agencies being within the same general fund; and the County Treasurer is authorized
to make said transfer.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Ina S. Randolph, the owner, desires additional time to redeem the

RESOLUTION CORRECTING TAX DEED TO
COUNTY ON LOTS 7 and 8, BLOCK 52
HUDSON, COLORADO.
WHEREAS, after full investigation and due hearing had by The Board of County
Commissioners, it now appears that certain real estate, to-wit: Lots 7 and 8, Block
52, Town of Hudson, Colorado, was sold on December 14, 1936, for delinquent taxes asr
sessed for the year 1935, amounting to $3.24 and tax certificate No. 905 of the tax
sale of 1936 was issued thereon to Weld County, Colorado: that there-after, taxes
against said lots for the year 1936, $14.25: and the year 1937, $13.68: and the year
1938, $13.57: and the year 1939, $14.3$ re endorsed upon said certificate, making
the total taxes from 1935 to 1939 inclusive $59.13; plus interest up to the date of
issuance of deed to the Gounty$8.11 together with redemption fees of .85¢ making a
total of $68.09; That thereafter, said Weld County, Colorado, under said tax oertifie
Gate, applied for and received a treasurer's died for said land on December 10, 1940;
that in the procedure for the procuring of said tax deed, the notice of the issuance
of said tax deed was not given as required by law and because thereof, said treasurer's
deed so issued to Weld County was and is void; that the former owner of said land offers
to redeem said delinquent taxes, $68.09 and pay the current taxes on said land for the
year 1940 and payable in 1941 in the sum of $13.78 or a total sum of $81.87 provided
said Weld County will authorize the execution of a quit claim deed on behalf of said
county to the present owner or owners of said land for the purpose of clearing the
title thereon from the cloud of said void treasuere's deed.
NOW, THEREFORE, The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, de-
siring so to clear the title of the above described land from the cloud of the afore-
said treasurer's deed, and in consideration .'of the redemption of the delinquent and
payment of current taxes thereon in the total sum of $81.87 does hereby appoint Harvey
E. Witwer, County Treasurer of Weld County, Colorado as Commissioner for and on behalf
of said Weld County, to execute and deliver a quit claim deed for said land, to-wit:
Lots 7 and 8, Block 52, Town of Hudson, Colorado to the present owner or owners thereof.

valuation.
The above information is furnished as required by Section 299, Chapter 142,
Colorado Statutes Annotated, 1935.
Your attention ;is directed to the Session Laws of Colorado, 1941, Chapter 42,
Section 3, which provides for a tax levy of six (6) mills on each dollar of assessed
valuation on all sheep and goats, except those in feed lots, to be credited to the Pred-
atory'Animal Fund.
Also to Colorado Statutes Annotated, 1935, Chapter 110,Section 325, which pro-
vides that there shall be levied and collected a tax equal to one-tenth of one per cent
upon the assessed valuation of all producing and non-producing metalliferous mining prop-
erty, including lode claims, placer and mill istes, together with all improvements thereon,
to be credited to the Metal Mining Fund.
