Re: Tawaga Greenhouses, Inc. Request
For Permist For Multiple Mobile
Gentlemen: Homes for Farm Labor
This letter is to inform you that I am unable to attend the meeting on September 1,
but want to definitely object to the request by the Tawaga Greenhouses,Inc. for a
permit to erect Multiple Mobile Homes for Farm Labor.
As owner of the 80 acre farm directly across the road from the Tawaga property, I
feel that the granting of this permit could create hardship and be very disadvantageous
to my property ownership.
The farm is dependent on underground water for irrigation. Any new well permits or
any additional water usage to supply water to the mobile homes, could seriously
curtail and deplete the flow and water pressure needed for the farms irrigation and
crop production. The water needed for this additional population in the areq, could
jeopardize my existing water rights.
Land appraisers and realtors advise that mobile homes, trailer courts, etc . depreciate
the resale value of the surrounding area and greatly limit the number of potential
buyers, as well price one could derive from the property sale.
I feel very strongly that the granting of this permit could cause a financial hardship
and loss to those of us who have been property owners in this area since the early 1900,s.
What about sanitation provisions and problems? To date this has been a clean, orderly
free from contamination, stable community. I feel that is to the social, economic and
general welfare of the community and the county that it remain that way.
I hereby wish to go on record as firmly opposing the issuance of this permit. As a
proallpthey owner factorsin Weld involved andyther over 65 denying ofears, I would appeciate yourthis request forr Mobileho esofonserin

Re: Tagawa Greenhouses, Inc. Request
For Permit for Multiple Mobile
Gentlemen: Homes for Farm Labor
This letter is to advise you that I am unable to attend the hearing and that I
strongly object to the request by Tagawa Greenhouses, Inc. , for the permit to
erect multiple mobile homes for farm labor in property described as: W. E.
Quarter of Section 25 Township 1 Range 66 West of 6th Principal Meridian.
As owner of property directly across the road, and the closest of the interested
parties to the Tagawa property as above described, I wish to go on record as
being strongly opposed to the issuance of this permit.
First issue--where is the water coming from to supply said mobile homes?
The agricultural productivity of the immediate area is largely dependent upon
its irrigation wells which comes from underground water. In the event new
wells were to be dug (and it is my understanding this could not be done with-
out the permission of the owners of the existing wells) there would very
naturally be a depletion of the underground water supply and the output of the
wells of much needed irrigation water.
The water supply and water usage for these homes should be given paramount
consideration. Drawing water from the underground supply would be a severe
hardship and no doubt a financial loss to our farm.
Secondly, in conferring with realtors and farm appraisers, it is common know-
ledge that mobile homes, trailer courts, etc. , greatly depreciate the surrounding
areas for resale and valuation by at least 35% or more.
To date this area has been very stable, clean, free from litter and contamination,
and an orderly, trouble-free community. I feel that the element of population
that would be added to the area could be less than desirable, and a detriment
to the entire area, school, etc.
I feel very strongly that the granting of this permit would be harmful to the
community, depreciate surrounding property, cause a financial loss to the property
owners in the immediate area, threaten the much needed water supply, and generally
be a great social, ecological, and economic detriment.
I hope you will see fit to deny the permit.
'ncerely yours,
41-/ e e -act-

Dear Sirs ;
I am hereby requesting that you consider allowing Tagawa
Greenhouses, Inc. to locate an additional Mobile Home on our
premises.
The nature of the greenhouse business requires that a constant
surveillance be maintained at all times for power failures, low
temperatures and other emergency conditions, such as boiler
failure, that may result in serious crop losses in a matter of
hours or even minutes. For this reason we are initiating a night
watch program who will occupy the proposed mobile home.
Tagawa Greenhouses, Inc. started in a very modest fashion,
and through the years have developed the business to an existing
facility of 566,000 square feet of greenhouses employing 100
persons. This type of investment in facilites and personnel must
be carefully safe-guarded so that a minor incident which may be
quickly corrected, does not turn into a major disaster.
Your utmost consideration to this matter would be most
greatly appreciated.
Since/ely,
1 n Tagaw
