CAW, February 15, 1 Board of County Commissioners Centennial Building P.O. Box 758 Greeley, CO 80632 Dear County Commissioners: In a resolution dated January 23, 1984, you accepted petitions from over 25% of resident landowners in Stoneham-New proposed Pest Control District known as the boundaries of RE-11 J School District, to call for an election of all landowners and leasees of state- leased land to see if they were in favor or against organizing a pest control district. You also appointed Herb Hanson, F.M. Loustalet and Stanley L. Boyes as an official counting committee. We counted ballots and verification of acres on Monday, February 6, and found 128 in favor and 39 opposed with a total of 159,563 acres valid. We counted again on February 10 with 12 in favor and 3 opposed with a total of 8,399 acres. We counted the last time on February 14 with 4 in favor and 1 opposed with 8,400 acres valid. This gives a total of 144 in favor and 43 opposed with a total of 176,362 acres voted. There were 413,680 acres within the district boundary which includes 62,825 acres of federal land. You subtract out this federal land which leaves 350,855 acres. Fifty percent of the 350,855 needed to be voted and 66 2/3 of those voting must vote in favor of the district. The counting committee verifies that the above figures and dates are correct to best of our knowledge.
